Hijacking Your Blog

I noticed something about myself the other day. I noticed that I write so much more in the comments section of other people’s blogs than I write posts here. I knew that I didn’t post very often but I hadn’t really thought about how *much* I was commenting. It’s a lot.

I think part of the reason I haven’t been posting much is that I don’t want to always complain. Life hasn’t been easy lately (or ever actually). My sleep has been bad which increases my pain. Ben has been having his own autism related things which adds overall stress to the house. Both daughters have had problems in their personal lives. Nothing is horrible but nothing is fantastic either. I just haven’t felt like any of it was worth posting about.

I follow several really great blogs written by fantastic people. They post more frequently and they post varied, interesting, well written things. Everything I read sparks my thoughts and makes me want to comment. Then, I’ll read some of the other comments left and want to comment on those. I’ve met some super awesome people here on WordPress. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging, unlike the other social media site I follow, which I won’t name (little blue bird).

So basically instead of posting “today was sucky cuz…life” here on my own blog, I go and hijack one (or several) of my friend’s blogs and write a bunch of stuff there. It’s like having little mini conversations with my group of friends. We check in with each other, offer different opinions, give or receive encouragement or share some laughs.

Maybe my thoughts will magically clear and a great idea for a post will come to me. Then I can host a “comments party” instead of always hijacking someone else’s blog.

Hey! I just wrote a post. Whaddya know…

  1. Nice, funny or insightful comments are always very much appreciated. I’ve enjoyed all the comments I’ve gotten on my blog with the exception of the comments I got from Dick and a random person who randomly insulted me for being upset over the results of the election.

  2. Nice, funny, intelligent, insightful comments are always appreciated. I laughed at that comment you left on my last blog. I’ve enjoyed all the comments I’ve gotten on my blog aside from the comments I got from Dick and some random person who randomly insulted me.

  3. Hey! I am excited to hear from you here! 🙂 ❤But, I must say I look forward to your comments. I love that someone actually understands. Your insights and your kindness mean so much. I know how it is about not wanting to write certain things. I have a good many of those things-some of which I can funnel into poetry, some that is just the stuff of life. But, don’t hesitate to share your heart-here or in the comments.

    1. Awww😊 thank you!🌷🌼 I’m going to try to post more. This blog was started as a kind of journal/snap shot of life with King Ben. Something to show his progress and rough spots since Fibromyalgia has fuzzed my memory. I need to make a bit more of an effort. I’m still going to continue to hijack everyone else’s blogs though cuz that’s more fun! 😜😄💞💜🌺🌻🌴😎

        1. But I’m not Catholic…😜 Although I’m not an Aspie, I’m beginning to wonder if I’m really NT. Maybe I’m some kind of mutant hybrid👾👽. I *do* drive a Prius 😂 Thank you for the welcome to the Aspie Porch! I’m sure Laina would agree since we’re all family😍😘🌻🌴😎

                1. Omg you two crack me up in the most awesomest endearing way!! 😘🤗💞💞. I love you both to pieces 🤗🤗. I love coming onto people’s blogs and seeing everyone, and my favorite part of my own blog is seeing everyone else comment underneath the posts!! I love this amazing little village of Aspies & Friends Porches 😎👍🏼🌺💚💙. Y’all are some of the best friends I’ve ever had 😘🌵🙌🏼💜💖

  4. Hey, everybody likes a nice comment on their blog! I think it’s the commenting on each others’ blogs that makes us into some sort of community. You start meeting the same people over and over, kind of get to know them, and from my point of view it feels so good to have been welcomed into this community. But a community needs dialogue, and just writing posts at each other is not enough. Where we really talk to each other is in the comments, so fire away I say! It doesn’t mean your blog posts are appreciated any less.

    1. Exactly! I’m still going to hijack everyone’s blogs just for the community. I don’t have much time or many spoons for friendships IRL so this is my community & these are my friends. I’m thankful for you and everyone else💖🌼🌷🌻🌴😎

  5. Haha love it! You made a post by accident. 😄

You’re always welcome to hijack my blog and your comments are ALWAYS insightful and positive. I admire your fortitude and positivity, yes I do. Anyway we bloggers live for comments, feedback, new perspectives and the knowledge that we are not alone, that others share our circumstances and views, and that in some small way we might have connected with and helped someone. Friendship and community is a wonderful bonus. 😊 So keep those comments and discussions coming.

Don’t worry about frequency or even putting out a “pity party” post here and there. If it’s where you’re at then it’s your truth! If you need time for perspective then take it. We’ll still be here. 😊

    1. Yep. Us two “Royal mum’s” need to stick together, right?!😂✊👑💫💥 I have noticed that when things are really super awful it does help kind of *purge* some of the negative feeling to write about them. This community is so supportive & non judgmental too. Thanks for being part of it & letting me hijack 💌💫💥🌻🌴😎

  6. I love that you wrote what you wrote. Many times my ideas will come from someone else’s post that sparks a passion in me to share. I encourage you to write, even when life sucks – maybe even especially when life sucks. Support is very much needed and gladly given. ❤

    1. Thank you so much!😍 It does seem to help release some of the negativity by putting it down in words. I know that other people go through rough periods too and it helps to know we’re not alone. I *am* going to try to write more often. In the meantime, I’ll keep hijacking ❣💃👍💐💫💥🌻🌴😎

  7. I find my interest in posting on my own blog ebbs and flows. I try to quality over quantity so if I don’t have anything really good or constructive to say I tend not to. I never do stop reading others’ blogs though and I try to engage with them on their blogs as much as possible.

In other news, I could have sworn I followed you before. I guess I didn’t? Oh well, I’ll do that now. 😛

  8. I agree. It’s so much fun to read other’s posts. We love hearing about your life too.
Nice to know someone is reading our posts. It makes writing worth every bit of effort.

    1. It is nice to know someone is reading our words for sure. It’s even nicer to know that we’ve made a connection with someone through our words. I still plan to try to post in between hijacking 😂💫💥🌹🌻🌴😎

  9. I really enjoy your comments! They are very insightful and add to the discussion. You and I don’t post every day. We post when we have something worth saying. But I love your comments – helps me realize I am not alone and someone is always listening. Thank you for being there!! 🙂
