70s Easy Listening

This is gonna be a quirky, short post.

I know that most of my followers don’t remember the 70s. Sheesh, most weren’t even alive in the 70s. This post probably won’t mean much to you.

I spent the better part of three hours on a music app (not gonna say which cuz I’m not paid to promote. Not paid period.) set to 70s Easy Listening. My goodness, it was so much fun for me. I knew every song. I even remembered the lyrics to most of them. I’m beginning to think that even though the 70s is best known for disco, easy listening should win the best known honor.

Anyway, I had a (rare) great evening! I would recommend all you music lovers to check it out.

  1. actually i was going to quote stayin alive, but lionel richie stopped me.

then i was going to quote 70s lionel richie, but then 1983 lionel richie stopped me. i am going to include this anyway because richard marx does vocals on this one– thats probably TOO easy.

    1. I didn’t make a playlist. I just had the app do a shuffle of 70s Easy Listening. It’s kinda funny that I remembered the songs but had no idea who most of the artists were. Maybe not so strange since I was just a kid. Ha, soundtrack of my childhood.๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ’Œ

    1. I had to laugh at two of the songs that played, Afternoon Delight and Muskrat Love. Both popular at the time.
Happy, soothing, toe tapping music. I’m still smiling. Ben sees his med doc after school so I’m gonna try to hold on to the happies๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ’Œ

  3. My brother gave me a CD of my choice for Christmas: I chose a James Last boxset. In Germany, he was the king of easy listening! I also like Herb Alpert a lot. All those lush string arrangements: aah! ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐ŸŽผ๐ŸŽป๐ŸŽต

  4. I was def around in the 70โ€™s too, but I prefer Enya when I want to relax. I basically listen to her music while Iโ€™m cooking, sewing etc… Easy listening makes me happy too.
    Have more happies. Take care

  5. I was around for some of the 70s! My husband was born in the early part of the decade, so he remembers much more, but it was a great decade lol. The 70s easy listening genre was golden! Some really good gems there

  6. Ooh, which songs were you listening to? There is some epicness to be found in music from the 70’s. Was listening to my old Led Zep album the other day they were late 60’s I think? Fabulous stuff. I still have a ton of music on old cassette tapes I keep meaning to get on MP3.

    1. Led Zeppelin is my all time favorite band!! They weren’t what I was listening to though because they are definitely *not* easy listening ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
It was a lot of Bread, America, James Taylor…that softer kind of music. I let the music app pick the artists and songs. Every one that I recognized (most) was a surprise. I think that was part of the fun.๐ŸŒป

      1. I love Led Zep. So many memories! I also love the Kinks! No, not necessarily easy listening, but certainly genius! Love your style. Music is adds a beautiful percussion to everyday life. Love to dip into the oldies now and again! I would love to know what music app you use, but understand why you don’t want to say๐Ÿ˜
