Heads up everyone! This site has even published MY stuff and we all know how low profile my blog is. Check it out and file a complaint.
With WordPress we get a notification if someone reblogs our content. This site is just stealing.

This, That, and The Other

Teresa, at The Haunted Wordsmith, wrote out a post a few days ago about a website that is harvesting the blog posts of many WordPress bloggers. That is, this site, tygpress.com, is likely posting on its site your posts without your authorization, approval, or permission.

You can check to see if this is happening to your posts by going to tygpress.com and typing your name or your blog’s name, or the title of one of your posts, or your blog’s URL in the search bar (see image above). Then scroll down to see if your posts are showing up on that site.

I did this and I found not only my own posts being published on that site, but the posts of many of you who follow my blog and who have responded to any of my prompts.

  1. Oh my goodness! Mine is on their too – and some of my blogging friends! Geez Louise! I am so not tech savvy, I’m sorry – which one am I supposed to pick? The abuse one? Side note – I have seen people put the copyright thing on their posts and wondered why – IF I had done that I guess they could have still posted but then is it a legal thing? I had always wondered why people used that in our world – we would know if someone was reblogging our stuff. But now I am wondering about the copyright addition to my posts. 1. More info has surfaced.
      1) the server is in India. Not much chance anything is going to be done
      2) that site filters out the “F-bomb” so any post with that word won’t get taken
      3) WP can’t do anything about cuz India and bots.
I was mostly surprised they’d bother with my stuff, then miffed. I feel bad for the people who have stuff they’re trying sell, or running their blog as part business.
Welcome to the digital age. Its REALLY not all that great sometimes.

      1. I clicked on some random choice then I saw they wanted me to put all my information in and I freaked. I went back to their site to see if they were just trying to get money through their ads, but they didn’t have any. So then I thought maybe they just wanted my info? So I walked away from reporting anything. I guess we will wait and see. Just so lame people do sh** like this. C’mon – I mean from what I can tell they took ALL our stuff. But I don’t really understand their motive? They’re just a bunch of poopy poop-heads 🙂

        1. I got a courtesy letter for my trouble, basically saying they weren’t gonna do anything.
There’s a graphic floating around made by Fandango that we can add to posts advising the 💩💩 aren’t authorized to use our content.
This must be how bands feel when their music is pirated.
