If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or similar.
I told Daughter about my idea of splitting his night meds, giving him part at 5:45 and the rest at 6:15. She said that we could try, so last night we gave him one of the two trazodone at 5:45 and the other with the rest of his meds at 6:15. There was no 6:00 SpamaTaz last night, but I think that had more to do with entire day’s chill than the med change. Friday night, when Daughter goes back to work will be the real test.
Things continued to be chill through bath time and bedtime. Ben and Zeus were tucked in by 7:00 and I waited for sunset.

I went out front, to the end of the driveway for a couple of the pictures.
Younger came over for Kris the Corn Snake’s injection around 8:00. Older did the injection and Younger did a little “shopping”, then hugs and “love you”s and Younger and Partner went home.
I took my pill at 10:30 and konked out sometime after that. I woke up around 3am and was awake for a while. I’m not sure what woke me… sometimes it’s nothing, just part of the the Fibromyalgia related insomnia. I eventually went back to sleep probably around 4am… I wasn’t watching the clock.
No Bounce AGAIN. It was another yelling, run-by Potty Emergency. And it was 6:30am again. I could seriously get used to this.
Rinse, repeat of yesterday morning almost exactly. One difference was Sven didn’t deign to open his eyes.

Daughter came out and took over at the same time as yesterday too. That’s where the “same” pattern ended though. No dozing in and out for a couple hours today. I was willing, but HRH had other ideas.
Ben was in and out of my room every five minutes needing help with something or other, usually it was tape. He seemed to be having trouble with using his words. He was grunting and doing other echolalia, but telling me what he wanted seemed difficult or just too much trouble. Either way, there were many frustrating “Who’s On First” moments.
He had settled down a little and was watching his tablet in my bed when the alarm went off for his meds. To save Daughter a trip (and to keep him on schedule) I got up to get more coffee, fill Ben’s water bottle and get his pill. Pill and full water bottle delivered, I went back to get my coffee. Daughter was playing with my shadow, aka Zeus the Big Dumb Dog, aka Dippy Doodle… Anyway, she threw his ball for him since he’d been carrying it around… Dogzilla bounded through the police cars and finger lights Ben had left scattered on the floor… the tile floor. Cars and lights flew, slid and crashed in all directions including up. I cleaned up the mess so Daughter could throw the ball again for the very impatient K9, then I finally got my coffee refill. Ben had followed me out to the living room when I didn’t come immediately back to my room. So, after I took my coffee into my room, I took his tablet and water bottle out to him, then went back to my room, followed by my shadow… with his ball.
Around 12:30 I heard Daughter give Ben his half Adderall. Then a little later she came to my room to tell me she had turned on the AC and also moved to her room. She said Ben was happilly doing the chalk thang.
Around 2:15 Ben yelled “Gramma come living room!” from my door. I dozed off at some point because that command woke me up. It got my body moving anyway, my brain was foggy and my eyes wouldn’t focus… I was very logey!
I relocated to the couch, got myself some more coffee and when the alarm went off, I gave Ben his meds. After meds, he decided to take a break from chalk and sit on the couch with me for some YouTube surfin’. Then at 2:45 Daughter came out with her stuff and sent me back to my room. Well, alrighty then. No complaints from me, my eyes still hadn’t focused.
About an hour later Ben came and Bounced me saying “You have to get dressed. You have to go to the store… more pink cookies.” This was the third of fourth time today he’d told me he wanted more pink cookies. Luckily I plan ahead and I’d gotten two packages of cookies the other night. I got the second package off of the top of the fridge, (he was in my room so he couldn’t see the super secret hiding place) and presented them to him.
He hung out with me and licked the frosting off the cookies until around 5:00, then he went back to the living room to hang out with Daughter.
Another mellow day at Casa Cuckoo… who would’ve thought we could have a run of mellow days? I guess anything is possible. We’re coming up on dinner, bath and bedtime. Rinse, repeat…
Tonight’s song is dedicated to those of you in my WP Family that are having a rough time right now. We’ve all been having a rough time since March, right?! Some days are just harder and I want those of you (I’m not going to name names) having really hard days to know that I’m here for you, and I’m thinking about you.
Thank you, as always, for stopping by and hanging out. Daughter goes back to work tomorrow night so things may be a little more tense at the Casa. We’ve also got laundry tomorrow and that’s always good for Adventure, amiright? Come on back tomorrow, I’ll have the coffee ready. And remember… you’ve got a friend!

Yes, finally getting some sleep! I have a feeling I wont get much this weekend. Zeus hates poping noises and the 4th is always hard with him.
Cookies are good for whatever ails you!๐ช๐

I definitely think the one big mistake I made was letting Declan see my hiding spot, although I never thought he could actually ever get to it or reach it. But he did! At three! So glad you had another chill day! Here’s hoping you guys continue to transition well and have another great day ahead!

Thanks, Robyn! I’m surprised Ben hasn’t figured out where we keep the front door key. Of course he can kick the door loose, but I’m glad all my hiding places are still secret๐คซ๐

I hope the only chaos you’re dealing with today is the Cap’n๐ค๐๐

Arenโt the fireworks at night scary? We have a tiny bit of open space and a school behind our house. Kids have always set off these firecrackers ๐งจ back there. Iโm always freaked out that the dry grass could catch fire ๐ฅ. Plus the noises scare me ๐ณ.
Glad youโre getting more rest these days.
It has been a challenging time for all of us.
Hang in there and have a cookie.
Hugs

There are mostly parking lots around me, so I’m not too worried about fire, but they’re still illegal and they make my dog bark… THAT annoys me. It’s never quiet enough for the actual fireworks or the popping to startle or scare me. I am NOT looking forward to tomorrow night!๐

It probably hurts your dogs ears. Poor guy

He doesn’t bark at the fire truck & ambulance sirens or the Harleys rumbling by… ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ He was 2 when we got him from the shelter. He was found wandering. But he was neutured and chipped when they found him. Poor Big Dumb Dog… who knows what his life was like before. I know he’s spoiled rotten now.๐๐ฅฐ๐

Dogs are great friends. My oldest Curtis has a boxer. He is a big love. He also got him from a shelter. He has growths and had an oncology report when Curtis got him. Poor guy needs surgeries and they are expensive. But, he keeps an eye on my boy and gives him extra love

Hooray for another relatively chill day.
And now I’m starting to have this really intense desire for pink cookies. I’m usually not a fan of frosted cookies. I might have one, if they’re just sitting there, neglected. It’s usually WAY too much sugar and I’m already hyper enough. But as I’m typing this I’m also eyeballing my car keys and pondering a quick run to the grocery store. You’ve turned me, Angie. Turned me! (Just kidding.)
