If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Last night continued to be chill. Even the sunset was undramatic

After sunset I just did normal night things. Younger came by around 9:30pm to bring my car back and pick up the Saturn she’d left here. I was still awake until after midnight. It’s cool and quiet then… I like it.
I was awake around 4:30 instead of 3am. I can’t be predictable now, can I?!
Daughter got up with Ben, but he and the Big Dumb Dog still made sure I knew I was loved by giving me plenty of bedquakes and an occasional knee in the back. I could hear Daughter yelling to Ben to “Leave Gramma alone. Let her sleep.” I thought she might’ve been more effective if she got up and came and got him, but whatever.
At 9am I quit the dozing and started the forcing of my brain into “ON” mode. Navigating the obstacle course to get to the bathroom (sorry, Bath Room) helped to sharpen my mental abilities. I uncovered the sleeping lump of lizard and got my coffee and went back to my room.
Ben followed me, but I made him go pick up one of the obstacles, his chalk, before he settled on my bed. Daughter decided to head to her room since I was awake and Ben was following me. Ten minutes later we were in the living room.
Ben and I did the usual stuff. A little Arts and Crafts, some Writing of Words, just hanging out next to each other. It was nice. The med alarms were the only things that marked the time.
Daughter got up and took over the living room a little after 2:30pm. Ben got up and followed me (and Zeus) into my room. He jumped on the bed and stabbed me in the back with a plastic knife. It hurt! Ben was trying to reenact some cartoon he’s currently watching and doesn’t understand some of the things he does are hurtful.
We spent the next half hour or so trying to explain to him that the game he was playing wasn’t a fun game. He was pacing and in some kind of “zone”. He heard us enough to give rehearsed answers like “Okay, Gramma” or “All done”, but he wasn’t hearing what we were saying. I stood in the kitchen next to the coffee pot, while he paced and “fought” with my Eeyores.
It’s a very very fine line we walk when he gets in these moods or zones or whatever. If we talk to him in anger or frustration he reacts by acting out more. He’s a ticking time bomb. If we pull at the wrong wire he will explode in a BIG way… if we can contain, maintain, calmly guide him to more acceptable ways, then the energy will be released, the project, game, reenactment, whatever will be completed and he can move on.
He moved on to stabbing the boxes. Disturbing, but the best alternative. Definitely better than stabbing me or Zeus, and better than stabbing my Eeyores.
Ben continued to be very hyper, as usual for the afternoons, but the angry or aggressive play was over. He was just bouncing all over the place.
We’re heading into the evening countdown and Daughter is off work until Friday night, so another stress-free night is what we’re hoping for.
I found this channel on YouTube just randomly… as if anything is really random. They do vintage covers of songs and they are excellent! Seriously, music lovers will love this group.
Thank you for coming by Casa Cuckoo. We didn’t have very many adventures today, but sometimes it’s nice to just sit and relax. Or relax and watch Ben doing strange or silly things. I’ll keep a look out for you tomorrow, you’re always welcome to join our adventures or just sit back with a beverage and watch… There might be calm moments, but there never dull moments.

Thank you! I hope Ben’s ADHD takes tomorrow off. He was in a good mood today, but he was the Energizer Bunny๐คฆโโ๏ธ

So hope you get some me time soon. Even superheroโs need downtime. I love that song. Only seen Ozzy once. He was so drunk the concert didnโt start Tim midnight and he had to lie down for one song. Funny old night in a really small club which seemed to have squeezed in millions.

I spent hours going through the songs that group remade. It’s cool how they put Big Band or Jazz sounds to rock classics or hip hop songs. I really like their stuff. They did “Wannabe” the Spice Girls song in an Andrew’s Sisters way… I liked it better than the Spice Girls ๐๐๐๐

I know that fine line as well that you don’t want to cross to avoid the big explosion. Great job navigating it! And I laughed out loud to your reaction when your daughter yelled to Ben to leave Gramma alone :-). Tone received! ๐ Here’s hoping you have a great day today!

Yeah, Daughter must be handled with care too๐ Maybe it’s just obvious to us HSPs because we’re used to picking up small clues and can anticipate things, know the best way to handle things?๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
Ben’s ADHD was on hyperdrive yesterday. He was still awake at 11:30pm last night!๐คฆโโ๏ธ I don’t even know what time he went to sleep.
Hopefully he’s less bouncy today! I hope your clan can play nice and you don’t have to SHHHH! too much!๐ค๐

Seems that an uneventful day is a good thing. Breathing space.

Uneventful is definitely good! Usually the “events” are dramas of the negative kind, like finding the homeless man sitting in my backyard after he broke my gate to get in.๐
I’ll take uneventful, most definitely!๐๐ฆ๐ป

Okay, this band is too fun and now I’m clicking through their inventory.
Just a bit of insight on Partner and I: In the video you shared, HE would be the one bopping around with the “look at me!” tambourine. I would be the one off camera… ๐

I got stuck in there for hours! How am I just finding this?? Some of the stuff is better than others, but how fun!
I’d be more like Partner I believe. My Daughters still tell the story of Mom dancing into the bedroom during the slumber party and smacking right into the lamp and breaking it. (I still say the darn thing moved on it’s own)๐
