If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Ben ate his dinner, took his bath and went to bed pretty much on schedule last night. The chill remained. Younger never came to get the car.
After Ben was in bed, I was going to walk over to the corner market. I asked Daughter if she wanted anything, and told her I would just get a couple things, we could stop to put air in the tire on the way to her thingy. She told me that I should go to the grocery store. She was trying to be nice, telling me I should go get the creamer I like for my coffee, not just half and half from the market. But that Sword Of Damocles thing again was telling me that she was right, I should just get the tire aired up and get ALL the stuff. Sigh!
So I went to the gas station down the street, but their air/water machine was broken. Boo! So I drove to the gas station near the grocery store. There was a guy using the air thingy, so I waited. He ran out of time and had to ask the employee peeps to push the button again. He seemed to be having problems getting the air thingy to work on his last tire. He gave up and handed it to me. I thanked him and began putting air in my tire. It wasn’t fully filled when the machine kicked off again, but it was good enough… better than it had been. I wanted to get the shopping over and done.
Then to the grocery store, which was busy. Boo! They had all the stuff on my list, so that was good. Only three checkers though. Of course I picked the line where the people had various coupons and separated stuff and all the little things that slow a line down. I probably only waited five minutes, it just felt like forever.
Back home, stuff put away, sweaty mask washed and hung up to dry outside, a couple pictures of the sky (clouds in the east were pretty)
Then I got Horizontal and messed around on my phone. After I ate, I unintentionally (again) konked out until after 11pm. It was too late to take my pill since I had to be coherent enough to Drive Miss Daisy to the thingy, so I went back to sleep without it. I woke up around 3am and stayed awake until around 5am.
The wakeup was at 6am and it was the yelling run-by, with the bedquakes and sniffing provided by Zeus. Off to the living room I went. I did the Sven thing, went and got the water bottle and charger, got my coffee (with yummy creamer) and began Couch Sittin.
Daughter got up around 6:30 and Ben ran off to her room. I took his meds in at 6:45. After meds, they relocated to the living room and I stayed in my room. We planned to leave around 7:20-7:30.
When Daughter went to get ready at 7:15am, I gathered my stuff, put on my shoes and went to get Ben ready. I just put his shoes on, but he needed a jacket, tie and long pants. Sigh!
We left at 7:25 and got there early. I love how there are fewer cars are on the road. There were a lot of big rig trucks and cars too, it wasn’t empty, but no bumper to bumper traffic. We dropped Daughter and headed for home.
Back inside the house, we resumed Couch Sittin for a little while. Ben got up to play with his chalk around 9am. Daughter texted at 9:15 that they’d probably be done by 9:45. I told her we’d leave at 9:30 then. She said wait until 9:35 or 9:40, which is when I planned on leaving in the first place… waste of time texting all that. (and writing it, and now wasting your time, reading it) I told Ben it was time to go at 9:35, but it took several prompts to get him away from his chalk and out the door.
Picked her up, headed home, stopped for more air for the tire and saw the cause of the loss… a ginormous nail or tack, some metal thing, which means a trip to the little tire place to have them plug it.
Inside the house and trying to get past the Dogzilla, we noticed a chewed up plastic baggie on the couch. I looked at Zeus and asked what he’d done, he put his head down, still wiggling and got that trying to look guilty but not really feeling it posture that everyone who has been around dogs knows. Daughter said it was from the trash can, it had the chicken she’d cooked last night. Raw chicken, not even the buttery, garlicky, cooked chicken he can’t resist… AND there was food in his bowl, the bowl he had to pass to get to the trashcan. I told Zeus he was very naughty.
Ben was sitting and doing the chalk again. When I told Zeus he was naughty, Ben scrunched his eyebrows into an Angry Face and started scripting some Angry Words. Ugh! I told Ben that he didn’t need to use Angry Words, that Zeus had done something he wasn’t supposed to do, that it was over now and everything was okay. Zeus was just mad that we left him home, so he did something he’s not supposed to, to show he was mad. Not a good choice.
Then I went to my room for Horizontal Time. Daughter doesn’t work again until Thursday night. I was SO far behind…
I spent the next couple hours going through my WP reader, trying to get “caught up”. I usually visit WP several times throughout the day, not one marathon reading session. I kept almost falling asleep and it was tempting, but I knew I would just feel logey after and I’d be angry at myself for not doing my Stuff. Stuff is important too. Well… kinda important.
Ben and Daughter stayed in the living room and I stayed in my room. It was nice to just relax. I kept the almost falling asleep routine going. The way things work, I’ll probably be wide awake when I decide I’m ready to sleep. That’s okay though. Even if Ben gets me up early, we don’t have to GO anywhere, or DO anything tomorrow morning, I can be dozey on the couch.
I think that we’ll just end today’s adventures here. It’s been really calm and quiet this afternoon and early evening. Ben has been completely focused on the chalk. He and Daughter have chatted back and forth, mostly scripting the way Ben likes, and he’s been singing and making his other Happy Noises. Dinnertime soon, then bath and bed.
Thanks for stopping by and riding along on another hot but chill day. It was a busy morning, but we managed. We have zero plans for tomorrow, I hope that isn’t a flashing neon invitation for trouble to find us. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow… together.

I can’t remember when I have seen so many clouds in your nighttime sky! I just realized how often we have clouds here – today they were black and cumulonimbus looking, but still no rain or weather. Although, I sat at a basketball practice in 90 degree weather plus 90% + humidity – bleh! Just in case the weather dart throwers were wrong. Such gross weather! I am also used to the dog doing something stupid. The other day I walked in and she had the trash can stuck on her head. Served her right. Hope she got what she was looking for – which I guess she did. On other days that she doesn’t get “caught in the act” she goes right to the laundry room and lays down to put herself in time out. If I come home, and she is in there, I know she did something bad (and she knows it too!). I am glad the different routine worked out okay and that you guys all had an overall okay day! Here is hoping for another one tomorrow!

Too bad you didn’t get a picture of the dog with the trashcan stuckπππ It’s hard to be mad at them for long. Yucky humidity!
Our mornings have been overcast, but it burns off fast and then no clouds. In summer they just burn off this far inland. We’re 17 miles from the coast in a valley so it’s hotter than the rest of the city.
Hope you get some cooler weatherπ€π₯°

I fully understand the WordPress Reader angle. I often sit down with the full intention of getting through everything, but most of the time it simply doesn’t happen. I follow A LOT of blogs and, while I really do enjoy catching up with all of them, it really can’t be done in one sitting. I have to pace myself and do it in smaller chunks throughout the day or I will lose my mind…

I only follow a few because I want to read everything. I’m sure I’m missing some great content, and wonderful people, but it’s impossible to keep up. Amazing to find TOO MUCH quality stuff in this day and age!
And as I tell everyone, Casa Cuckoo is like a soap opera, you can miss big chunks and jump back in anytime and still follow alongπ

We had a miniature schnauzer dog who loved dirty diapers. He would wait till we left the house, then dump the can over. One day we found one diaper torn up in the hallway and another hidden behind a bed pillow! So funny.
Then another time i found one buried in the back yard. It had been there for a while. Hilarious. We miss that dog.
Hope you get some good zzβs.

I had a female dog that wanted to eat my dirty underwear when I was pregnant. She turned a few of my ginormous maternity bloomers into crotchless undiesππ
Dogs are so weird! πΆπ They’re wonderful companions though.π

Naughty Zeus – Pasha hasn’t found the rubbish bin yet! He did chew my glasses case when I left him to go to choir the other night – he wasn’t even alone – he had my husband, son and Monty dog for company!! That’s what you get for leaving them! Your stuff is important and you must find time to do it. π

Our Stuff isnt the foundations of our lives, we won’t crumble without them. But they ARE important.
Zeus lays in front of the door until I get home… even with Daughter and Ben there for company. Loyalty is nice, but… sheesh!ππ
