If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Another evening routine that went well. Ben needed several prompts and if it had been a Driving Miss Daisy night, things might have been more difficult. But it wasn’t, so it was okay.
Then sunset… and OH-EM-GEE! Well, just look
I took over one hundred pictures. These were all taken in the Pro setting of my phone camera at ISO 100 (whatever that means). I have lots more pictures that are stunning. The clouds rolled in from the south and east… very tropical. Unfortunately it also means very humid (for SoCal) if they stick around. We’re used to 25-30% humidity, or even less when we get the Santa Ana winds.
I took my pill around 1am after waking from another unintentional doze and konked for the night. The yelling run-by, complete with the sniffing bedquake by my shadow, occured at 6:30am. I got the stuff, did the stuff, engaged the coffee pot dragon and uncovered the grumpy, snoozing dragon. I did the meds and took the load of laundry around the house and put it in the washer, without falling down. YAY! And last, but not least, I brewed a big thing of tea to make Sweet Tea with later. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to add some flavored herbal tea to this batch. I have a bunch of Berry, Peach, Hibiscus and assorted other flavors of herbal tea… I postponed the decision.
Daughter got up, put her load in the wash and brought mine inside, then got her stuff and was Couch Sittin by 9am. It already felt yucky outside and was only going to get worse as it got hotter… 95F (35C) is what they pulled out of the Guessers’ Hat for today. They keep changing their Guess for Friday… I’ve seen as high as 102F (39C) and as low as 98F (37C). HOT!
Around 11am I prepared myself for battle and took the washed clothes over to the laundromat. (Cue intro music from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly) I walked in, went directly to my chosen dryers, and put my baskets down, not acknowledging the woman leaning against the service counter. After settling the baskets, I turned and began making my way to the service counter. My head was held high, my shoulders were back and I had a righteous gleam in my eye. Then I realized, I really need new glasses, and the woman before me was not the Quarter Lady. I nevertheless asked for sixteen quarters and laid my four singles on the counter. She said “You’re using the dryer.” I told her I was using two dryers. She handed over my quarters without further comment. I thanked her and went back to my chosen dryers. Rather anti-climactic, huh? That’s okay. There will be future laundry to dry. The Quarter Lady and I shall meet again.
Around noon I went back to get the clothes, then headed to McDonald’s to get Ben a Happy Meal. Making sure we can cross “hungry” off the list of things that might be upsetting him, just in case. Plus, it’s just too hot to cook!
I got home, navigated the obstacle course with the two laundry baskets, deposited them in the correct rooms, gave Daughter the food for her and Ben, took my food, and went to fold and put away my and Ben’s clothes.
Clothes put away, I relaxed and ate my fries before they got cold and gross. The Big Mac can wait until later tonight… much later.
At 1:15pm Ben came into my room to finish putting on his Mr Incredible costume in front of my mirror. Daughter and I both tried to talk him out of wearing it, but he ignored us. He’s really good at ignoring.
Around 1:30 Daughter went to lay down. I told her I was gonna stay in my room until commanded to move. The request came fifteen minutes later. He even said please. So of course I went to do some Couch Sittin.
Daughter came back out to take over the Couch Sittin. The change was accompanied by Happy Noises, provided by Ben, or Mr Incredible. He was doing his thang with the chalk right in front on the bathroom… very inconvenient. There is a skylight in the bathroom, so I can see why he’d prefer the lighting there. We have all the other windows covered to keep the heat out.
Anyway, I went back to my room and got Horizontal. Younger called to say that Yes, she would be over at 6:20ish to get her mail and to sit with Ben. For tonight, it’s just easier if he stays home. We’ll see how things go Saturday, Sunday and Monday when Daughter works again. He’s been pretty chill most of the day, but if younger is available, why not take any potential stresses away, right right? Right right!
Around 4:45 Ben, aka Mr Incredible did a running cannonball Bounce onto my bed. I’ve asked him not to Bounce so hard, but what kid doesn’t like to bounce on the bed?
Pregame Show time… tonight’s song was inspired by my comments on one of Rory’s posts.
WP is glitching again… it wont let me add links. Here’s the link if you wanna check out the post https://aguycalledbloke.blog/2020/08/13/are-we-becoming-too-reliant-upon/
Thanks for hanging out today. Sorry there was no Epic Battle, but there will be another time, another load of wet clothes… and I will be victorious! Tomorrow there will be errands. I need to get the tire plugged and hopefully Daughter’s paycheck direct deposit whatever has been fixed, cuz I see the grocery list growing. Sigh! Join me on my errands, we’ll crank the radio and sing along, or we could just chill at the Casa in the AC. Or we could do both… who knows?! We’ll have some laughs, maybe do more Science… anything could happen. See ya tomorrow.

I just made the fresh batch, no flavor… I figure I can always add a bit of a flavored tea to a glass of the Sweet Tea.😉 plus I couldn’t decide on a flavor 😂

I made iced tea today also. I drank 3 glasses. I usually make espresso w steamed milk and chocolate ganache every morning. Tea sounded refreshing.
Had to water my vegetables longer this morning. I heard about the hotter temps tomorrow. Yikes. It has been a fairly mild summer so far. Evenings are cool. Thank Goodness!
Sleep tight.

Its gonna be a sleep on top of the blankets night tonight and the next few I think… it’s only going to drop to low 70s overnight.
It HAS been a mild summer. We usually have a lot more mid 90s days and several triple digits by August. I hope it’s not a late summer with September and October sweltering.
I need an espresso machine. And a sweet barista to run it for me.😉
Sweet Dreams Teri, stay cool😎💖

😘😘 worth every penny. Never want a Starbucks or Peets coffee. Mine at home are better. I’m a coffee snob.
Thought I’d make decaf in evenings, but I don’t unless we entertain. That hardly happens anymore. 😫

I like really good strong coffee, but I’m the only one that drinks it.
I think for the money, I’d rather have a good camera to capture my sunsets😉

Photography is fun. My husband does weddings for friends and family. Our family room wall has 90 5X7 photos of friends and family that he has taken.
Hope you get your camera. You deserve it

I’ve been drinking tons of iced tea too! I love the Arizona blueberry (it’s low cal as well as yummy). Had a bad reaction to my flu shot & shingles vax, so I did nothing all day 🙁

Older always has a reaction to the flu shots. She HAS to get them though. I never do.🤷🏼♀️
Sorry you had a reaction but doing nothing is nice… especially when its HOT! Gross hot!
I used to get the raspberry Peace tea… blueberry sounds good too. I’ll have to see if I have blueberry in my box of berry teas.🤔

I like Disturbed’s remake, then found that one with Myles Kennedy… the duet is a perfect representation of S&G, only with more Metal🤘

Those darn weather people. We had a ton of rain real quick on Wednesday that caused some minor flooding. And it was SUPPOSED to happen again yesterday so I canceled our regular afternoon plans. And we sat, and sat, and sat until it finally rained a bit. And then I took catelyn to her soccer practice because everything was fine. Who knows what they have predicted for today. Whatever they chose, something else is bound to happen.
Glad you got your quarters without hassle! You were ready – your time will come with quarter lady. The sunset was beautiful! Must be even better in person. Well, I hope you guys have a great day today!

I call them Guessers and they really are just guessing. The weather is like Casa Cuckoo, things change quickly. It would be better if they used words like “could” or “possibly” 🙄💕

All of the sunset photos are terrific, as usual, but that last one? It could certainly be used on a book cover. (Fair disclosure: I say this to folks more often than I should, but my mind just works that way. I see an image and I wonder how it could be used with words, and thus Bonnywood was born.) I’m not sure what the subject of the book would be. Perhaps a life travelogue, a journey where the clouds are always there, but so is the sun, and the heroine finally figures out how to appreciate both…
