Part 148 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.

Younger arrived at 6:20pm last night, just as Ben was getting out of the bath. It got a little crazy in our tiny living room area with me, Ben, both daughters, Younger’s partner and Dogzilla wiggle whining around. Older and I just left, Ben was happy enough with his Auntie.

I dropped Older off and walked into a quiet house. Ben and Zeus were tucked in and Younger and Partner (yeah, I dont know either… are they together? Are they breaking up? I just go with whatever is going on at that moment.) were sitting on the couch. Daughter and I chatted for a few, Partner was on the phone. It was sunset time so I took my Sciencey pictures and chatted with Younger some more. They left a few minutes later and I watched another stunning sunset.

These were all taken using the Photo option on my phone camera. I have a bunch that I took with Pro too, but I had to narrow it down somehow.

I took my pill around 10:30 and I’m pretty sure I was asleep before midnight. I woke up a few times but none of them were for very long. The morning Wakeup was provided by Zeus at 6:00am, complete with Bedquakes, sniffing and a cold nose in my ear. There was no sign of Ben.

I found him sitting on the couch, slack jawed and staring into space (or at something my non-autistic brain and eyes couldn’t see). I said Good Morning to him and went to get his tablet, charger and water bottle. I got my stuff, got some coffee, uncovered Sven and turned his lights on to peek

Then I settled into Couch Sittin and gave Ben his meds when the alarm went off. I also closed up the house and turned the AC on. The Guessers say 95-105F (35-41C)… I suppose they figure a ten degree range will cover them. Then at 7:10 when the other alarm went off, we put on our shoes and went to get Daughter from work.

Dogzilla was doing the whiney wiggle dance, and he’d resisted the trash. Good thing for him. Daughter went to her room, Ben started playing with his Jenga size dominoes and I settled in for more Couch Sittin.

Ben was doing a LOT of pacing this morning, and all his scripting was loud and in his Angry Voice. I asked if he had an Ouchie or if something was wrong? Why he was using his Angry Voice? He told me “It’s fine.” which means No.

He was getting bored with the Jenga sized blocks, even after he had me tape then all into four-piece Mega dominoes. I went and got the bag of one hundred red dominoes that came Thurdays evening. He was very excited! He set them up, asked me to do a countdown, then knocked ’em down. Then paced, watched his tablet, paced, set them up again and knocked ’em down again. He had Ants In His Pants all morning and into the afternoon.

Daughter got up around 1:45 and came to take over Couch Sittin. She got the mail first and her paycheck was there. Good, except the Direct Deposit thingy has obviously not been resolved. Also not good was that I had to drive over to her bank and deposit the dag-nabbit thing. It was gross hot outside

That’s 41°C

After depositing the check, I drove by the little tire place I use. They were busy and I was worried about Mr Ants In His Pants. He’d been chillin on the couch next to me since about 1pm, but sometimes when we have a Changing Of The Sitters he gets a little spastic. Anyway, I didn’t stop to get my tire fixed. I’ll do it tomorrow or whenever.

It’s getting close to Pregame Show time. Daughter is off tonight so we’ll be running a stress free routine tonight. I do unfortunately have to go to a couple stores after The Boys are tucked in.

How many of you guys automatically say “Janet” after “dammit”? It’s one of the reasons I use Dag-nabbit instead. I can’t say dammit without adding the Janet.

Thank you for chillin in the AC with us today. It was Mafting (glitchy WP wont let me link the word, GRRRR! Here’s the link if you want the definition. https://bereavedsingledad.blog/2020/08/12/cool/ ) out there today. I guess Summer is officially here. It’s chill inside though, with a chill vibe and plenty of ice and Sweet Tea. Come by tomorrow and I’ll tell you how I did at the stores. We can watch Ben build lines of dominoes or play with his chalk. Maybe we can convince him to put something other than Hocus Pocus on the TV. Anything could happen… ya just never know.

  1. Beautiful pictures of the sky! So very pretty. That is one hot day there, lady! I hope it gets cooler for you. I wonder what is bothering Ben? Sounds like he is a little agitated at times. I hope he is feeling more zen soon. I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow (with loads of sleep tonight!). Hugs!

    1. I think Ben needs to poop. I have to make him go use the bathroom. He holds it and holds it. I think I’m gonna have to start giving him daily fiber or something…
Goodness! The things discussed on my blog😂😂 It’s important though. Other autistic kids do the same thing and it’s good for other parents/carers to know. Especially with the ones that struggle with communication.
It was… still is, HOT! But the humidity was in the 20s so it’s not suffocating like what you guys get. There was a very hot breeze too, but at least the air was moving.
I hope it’s cooler tomorrow too. I just decided to postpone the stores til morning😆💖

    1. Have a wonderful Saturday, Sadje!
I decided to skip the store until morning… too hot still and I just didn’t wanna😉🤷🏼‍♀️
The sky was absolutely stunning Thursday evening… Friday, not so much. I got my pictures for my Science though😉😂
      🤗🥰

  2. Sorry you are having problems with WP too. I’m not enjoying the ‘new improved’ format – it seems trickier to add links and my posts never automatically post to my FB page now. Very annoying!

    1. WP has always been glitchy, but mostly it’s a minor inconvenience. I use a free plan and don’t feel like I have the right to complain about a few things not being perfect.
Lots of people are having different problems. They must be fiddling with something. You’d think they’d leave well enough alone.🙄😂🌻💕

    1. Maybe just a little exaggerated… I’ll provide photos in an upcoming episode. I’m more concerned about the foundation when he decides he’s going to pretend to “jump in muddy puddles” like Peppa Pig.(HATE that show)
Ben does tend to favor a rainbow arrangement of the colors. Such a smart kid!🌈😉
