If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Ben continued to play with his chalk, completely ignoring the chicken dinosaur nuggets that Daughter made for his dinner. I went to run his bath, told him that chalk time was over, put his hair up and started picking the chalk up… prompting him to get up and go to the bathroom for his bath. Ben was dragging his heels, didnt want to take a bath.
We left on time to take Daughter to work, but we had to struggle with Ben every step of the way. After dropping her off and coming home, the struggle continued. Nothing major, just irritating, like the entire day. Hopefully whatever was buggin him Sunday will be gone when he wakes up Monday, today.
I started watching the sunset… to relax and for Science. I took a few pictures and then Parrots were flying overhead. They landed on some power lines right by the house, so I kinda forgot about sunset, because Parrots! I took a bunch of pictures of them and a video too.
The video, at 0:46 is too long, and the pictures aren’t as good as the ones I took on the way to get the tire fixed. So, you’re spared, I only included the one picture of them with sunset in the background.
Then I did all the stuff and took my pill around 11:00pm, hoping to be asleep before midnight.
I woke a few times in the night, like always, but went back to sleep. I got up at 6:00am and let Zeus out of Ben’s room. I noticed the sunrise from the bathroom window…
it was stunning! Ben was on the couch when I got out of the bathroom… sorry… Bath Room.
I went to get his tablet and water bottle for him. His bedside table had been knocked over and stuff scattered everywhere. I found his water bottle upside down, empty. Sigh! I cleaned it all up and took the stuff to HRH.
I closed up the house and switched the AC on. The Guessers are predicting mid to high 90s for the rest of August. Unfortunately, that’s normal. The humidity goes up at the end of August/early September too. Ben’s birthday usually falls during Labor Day Weekend (Labor Day is the first Monday of September), and it’s usually miserable weather.
Then I got my coffee and sat down. Just in time to get Ben’s meds ready. I told Ben that I forgot to turn Sven’s lights on, so he did it for me. Very sweet, but he didn’t uncover him, so I had to get back up anyway.
Soon it was time to go get Daughter from work. We got ready and headed to the car. Before we could leave, I had to set my recycling bin back up and pick up all the paper, cardboard and glass that was in the street and blocking the driveway. My bin was the only one knocked over. GRRRR!
We got Daughter, came home and began another Casa Cuckoo day. It wasn’t even 8:00am yet, but it felt like it’d been a busy day already.
Ben had Ants In His Pants again today. I tried to get him to go outside for a while… I even went out in the yard for a few minutes, but Ben wasn’t interested. He played with his dominoes, telling Zeus to get on the couch. Then he’d want to get on the couch and he’d tell Zeus to Scoot. Back and forth, back and forth, then more back and forth.
He wasn’t paying attention to what he was doing or what he was bumping or banging into. He carried his tablet with the earbuds trailing and eventually snapped one off. I got the last set for him, and told him it was the last set, but I’m pretty sure he just ignored me.
Around 10:30 he settled on the couch and decided to do some drumming. The two plastic mini bats were right there, how could he resist? His style reminds me of John Bonham or maybe Animal…
He’s actually got pretty good rhythm. Drums might be something to look into when/if he learns to take better care of his things.
The morning continued on into the afternoon with Ben twitching and jerking, banging and bouncing… generally in constant motion. When the noon med alarm went off, I stared at it for a few seconds… it was only noon? The day had already felt endlessly long… I think time is being really weird this year. Or rather, we’re all experiencing time in weird ways.
Ben was watching the scene from the Lion King where Mufasa tells Scar not to turn his back on him, then Scar says something snide (it’s been a while since I’ve seen it) and Mufasa growls “Is that a Challenge?” I know those parts cuz Ben kept getting in my face, pretending to be Mufasa. He was just playing, but it was getting annoying having him bump into me and getting in my face growling.
It wasn’t ALL badsauce. He “scored” again, WOOT WOOT! And he quietly sang What A Wonderful World. I recorded video, with my finger over the camera, but it’s difficult to hear him over the noise of the AC unit. At least I know it works. I want to record his Happy Noises so I can play it for you guys.
Younger had a phone interview scheduled today at 11:00am, and the people didn’t call her or email to cancel. She tried calling them and sent an email, no response. This trend of employers just ghosting people is ridiculous. An email would’ve taken less than five minutes. She had another interview, this one in person, scheduled for 2:00pm.
Older Daughter surprised me by taking over Couch Sittin at 2:10pm today. I was very happy to end my shift. I was counting the minutes until I expected to get Horizontal. I figured she’d roll out closer to 3pm, like yesterday. I gave my report and headed to my room.
Younger called to let me know that her 2:00pm interview had gone well and they said they’d contact her later today or tomorrow. She also got a call from her 11am interview to reschedule. She was driving, with bluetooth, but didn’t want to interview while driving. Good to know she wasn’t completely ghosted.
We’re heading into Pregame Show. Ben is loud and BIG still. He seems to be in a decent mood, but the boisterousness has worn out it’s welcome. I’ll be working on my patience until we drop Daughter at work, and I get Ben home and in bed.
Let’s have some laughs with a parody song!
Thanks for stopping by and hanging out. Kind of a rough start and it was a weird day, but it wasn’t a bad day, and that’s GOOD! Daughter is off work tomorrow and doesn’t go back until Saturday, so hurray! Maybe we’ll do some stuff… or not. Maybe the parrots will hang out in my wild pecan tree and leave me a feather or three… or not. The only thing I’m (99.99%) sure of is that we’ll have some laughs. See ya tomorrow.
