Part 152 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

Work-night routine, Driving Miss Daisy… hot, tired, grumpy adults, and Ben, being so very Ben-like. Mission accomplished, back home and The Boys are tucked in and I was done, done, done! Except…

Science! Well, dang… a few pictures, then rest and wait for Ben to quit making the loud noises and gawd-awful screams.

I took a few other pictures, just playing around with the different settings. I think my daughters need to get me a camera for xmas or my birfday.

Ben finally stopped making noise around 9pm, I think… I did the things, took the pill and slept sometime around midnight.

A few brief wake-ups and BING! Awake at 5am. Why, you might wonder… or not. Maybe you’re as used to unexplainable events at Casa Cuckoo as we are.

Anyway, I got up and opened Ben’s door to let the Dogzilla Monster out. I noticed the eastern sky from the bathroom window again

So, yeah… more pictures. Then I went and woke Ben up, woke Sven up, closed the house up and turned on the AC, did the things… then we went to get Daughter from work.

Home again and Daughter had a Virtual Training or something from 8am to 10am, so she was in her room, Ben was doing domino stuff, and I recomenced my Couch Sittin. I was still trying to have my first cup of coffee…

Daughter finished her training thingy and brought her stuff out to the living room and told me to go to my room. I asked why she wasn’t gonna lay down for a while. She just told me to go to my room again. Well, alrighty then.

I went and got Horizontal and started to doze. I stopped myself from sleeping… I kept expecting Ben to come Bounce me. At 10:40 the med alarm went off, so I yelled to Daughter. (We decided that I would let her know when my alarms go off for his meds) She said okay and I decided that I was gonna give in to the doze.

Of course Ben came and Bounced me then. He brought his Kittys, his Oreos, his tablet and his BIG energy and noises. Daughter came in ten minutes later with his meds. Sigh…

I hollered out to her at noon and didn’t get a response. I waited twenty minutes and texted her. She hadn’t heard me. I offered again to let her go to her room, but she was being stubborn. Whatever, dude…

Every time I’d start to doze, Ben’s Gramma Alert would go off and he’d Bounce me. I tried to just stay awake, but my room is hot with no AC and I’m chronically tired, so I fall asleep if I’m still for more than a few minutes.

I hollered the two-thirty alarm and got no response, so I went to check, pretty sure what I’d find. Yep, she was sleeping. Silly, stubborn… Anyway, I got Ben’s meds ready and gave them to him. She woke up as I was straightening up. I asked if she was ready to go lay down? She did a very good impersonation of Charlie Brown’s teacher. Alrighty then…

A few minutes later she was headed down the hall to her room. I went back to the living room for some more Couch Sittin. Since she doesn’t have work tonight, the afternoon didn’t feel as stressful, even with Ben’s BIG energy.

I don’t know when Daughter is going to wake up, so I better make something for HRH to eat… probably frozen pizza. It’s too hot to cook, or to eat something heavy.

New song from this band. I’m really liking them.

I hope you enjoyed another hot but mostly chill day here at the Casa. We’ve got a heat warning for the next few days, so I don’t anticipate much happening around here. I wish Ben could take his BIG energy outside, but he doesn’t do well in heat, not that he even recognizes it… he just gets grumpier and pushes more buttons. I will make a prediction that since Daughter is not working tonight, Ben will wake up very early and Bounce me. That’s just the way things work at Casa Cuckoo. Come by tomorrow, see if I was right or if Ben slept in like he has been lately. Hasta mañana.
