If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Ben was grumpy, talking about CVS, using Angry Words, grabbing the front of my shirt in both hands, and jibber-jabbering with his eyebrows scrunched. I really wished I’d let him sleep.
Younger texted that she’d come over, she was having car problems but she’d keep me informed. Ben calmed a little when I told him that Auntie was gonna come. He calmed more after he ate the steak Daughter cooked for him. He was still hungry so he had some Blue Ramen. Tired and Hangry, no wonder he was grumpy.
I kept him chilled, took pictures, gave him his bath and took pictures. Auntie arrived at 6:25 and he was ready to go to bed. He’d been waiting for her. I Drove Miss Daisy.
Younger left pretty soon after I got home. She was hungry and tired from work. I thanked her profusely, hugged her, told her I appreciated her and loved her, then she left and I locked up… and took pictures.
After sunset I did the things. Then I ate some more of my pasta and three mozzarella sticks, had a food doze (not full coma status amazingly), took my pill around midnight and then I was out.
Ben did the yelling run-by at 5:30am. Better than 4:15 and better than door kicking! Zeus came running in from outside as I was getting up, must’ve been a Potty Emergency.
I got Ben’s stuff and my stuff and put a sccop of kibble down for Zeus, refilled Ben’s water bottle… the usual morning routine. At 6:10 I did the Sven morning stuff. I discovered that we were out of worms. I put a blackberry on top of his greens and begged his forgiveness.
He was on his hammock when I uncovered him, he had a puffed-out, black beard after seeing no worms in his dish. Poor Sven…
I made the executive decision to move Ben’s med schedule back to 6:30am and 10:30am. I’m going to be getting him ready for school on Mondays and Tuesdays between 6:30 and 7:00, and the only reason we had moved the meds to 6:45am was because the Adderall was calming him so much at first that he was falling asleep around 7am, which made picking Daughter up at 7:30 more difficult. Plus or minus thirty minutes is generally acceptable with most medications. Anyway, I Doped His Face at 6:30 and he started playing with dominoes.
I went to look at the sky. It was completely overcast. There was even some fog clinging to the hills. No pretty sunrise… no baking heat either. I’ll take the cooler temperatures since the Guessers pulled triple digits out of the hat for the end of the month, yikes!

Anyway, at 7:10am the alarm went off to go get Daughter, we got our shoes on and went to get her. No problems when we got home. Ben went back to his dominoes, to repair the damage done by Dogzilla and his wiggle-whiney dance. Daughter went to her room and I began my second tour of Couch Sittin Duty.
Ben took a tablet and Oreo break around 8:30am, and joined me on the couch. He was still hanging out at 10:30am when the med alarm went off. He’d gotten up a few times to mess with his dominoes or just to pace, but he was generally relaxed. I gave him the med and we each continued with our devices. A short time later he grabbed his bucket of chalk and took it to the area in front of the bathroom, and started doing his thang. I continued to try to catch up on my WP Reader.
I was surprised when the 1pm med alarm went off. I hadn’t realized how much time had passed. Ben was still doing his chalk thang, so I put the pill in his mouth and held the water bottle for him. I’m a very dutiful servant to HRH.
The 2:30 med alarm went off and I did a repeat of 1pm… different meds. Daughter came stumbling down the hallway a few minutes later. I was definitely ready to get Horizontal! I got up every hour or so during my Couch Sittin and went outside to look at the sky, or play around with the camera on my phone, taking pictures of this or that, but sitting on that busted couch is uncomfortable and I’d been there for seven hours. Ben was still very much engaged with his chalk. Whatever was making him so restless and edgy seems to be gone today. That’s a blessing.
I want to wash Ben’s hair tonight, rather than try to do it tomorrow night. We have no idea how tomorrow will go, and it needs to be done. I’m going to go do it now. It’s early for bath time, but if he gets a little dirty after, it won’t matter tonight like it would tomorrow. I want tomorrow to go as smoothly as possible. So I’m ending a little early. I’ll catch you up with tomorrow’s adventures.
I was scrolling through my feed and this song came up. It’s kinda trippy cuz this song has been playing in my head off and on all day, and I didn’t even know who sang it. I guess it wants to be heard. Does someone have a memory attached to this song? Is it a favorite song? I’d love to know if it has special meaning to any of you awesome peoples.
Things got a little messed up yesterday afternoon, but it was salvaged before it went to meltdown status. Daughter even had a decent night at work. Today has been super mellow, just hanging out while Daughter slept. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same. Come by and see, maybe relax with us, maybe have drama with us… We never know what we’re doing until we do it. We’ll be talking to Ben about school tomorrow. He’ll probably tell us “No school” like he used to. We want to give him a heads up, but not make a big deal about it. Lots of ways that could go. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow… together. ยกHasta maรฑana!

Sounds like a pretty chill day, which is awesome! I hope that the chill continues tomorrow and there is a peaceful send off on the little yellow school bus on Monday (Yay, for the bus!!) Everyone seemed to have a good day, except for Sven. Look at that angry beard! Sheesh! Sometimes there is no pleasing a bearded dragon ๐ Well, I am hopeful – a calm night and a chill day tomorrow for a long-overdue send off on Monday!

Thanks, Robyn! I want you to enjoy yourself, even though you’re stuck at home with the pets while your family enjoys the beach. A great sacrifice you’re making๐๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ Seriously though… don’t do a bunch of chores. Read, run, SLEEP… enjoy the sound of the fridge motor in a quiet house… or blast the tunes and dance!๐๐ผ๐ถ๐๐ค๐ฅฐ๐๐ซโจ

Awww… thank you! I’m the lucky one, to be surrounded by love and wonderful friends. Older Daughter doesn’t care about sunset or flowers or Nature really. It doesn’t excite her the way it does me, and she gets annoyed when I get all excited about the colors or clouds or even bird feathers… I’m happy to have someone (lots of someones) to share it with. I love your Magical Woods… you share that, I share sunsets๐๐โจ๐ซ๐ค๐ฅฐ๐

That video is definitely a time capsule. (Did we really think those threads were cool back in the day? Apparently. And why does the one guy have a red jacket and the others don’t?) And the lyrics of the song are kind of creepy. You don’t remember her name but she spun your head around? I’m thinking I would remember a name in a situation like that. Maybe that’s just me… ๐

It’s weird how the the chorus of the song just randomly started playing in my heard. I had no idea who sang the song, cant remember that last time I heard it… I hate a lot of things internet, but grabbing my phone and finding answers to question is one thing I LOVE!! The video cracked me up! Why was it even filmed? The Mike Douglass Show???๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐๐
Gotta love the suits. The 70s were just a bad acid trip fashion wise. My childhood photos are filled with unfortunate clothing choices. A lot of songs, hit songs, have horrible lyrics … really, really inappropriate and I dont mean like ACDC or KISS songs, I mean a lyric ” I like my girls a little bit older… stay the night but keep it under cover… I just wanna use your love tonight” ewww… gross!
I still haven’t figured out why December 1963 was playing in my head… ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ there’s always a reason for these things. At least in MY crazy life there is. I’ll let you know when the meaning is revealed (said in my carnival Fortune Teller voice)๐

Yes. Having clean hair on the first day back to school is critical. Good plan.
More smoke here in our area, but it isn’t as bad as before. Apparently, St Helena is on fire. It is a sad day when the wine country is on fire.
Lots of Scrabble games, planting seeds and trying to put up a chicken coop this weekend. It’s a process and my husband is trying to make things happen. I’m not much help. He likes to do these projects on his own. He also went to help Curtis with light bulbs, (yep, really), rat traps and a new gate since his neighbor has been going on his property. Then Ken ran over glass in the parking lot. Curtis tried to warn him it was there. Geeze! Why couldn’t he have cleaned it up instead. Crazy LAZY kid. I don’t think the tire is damaged, but it wasn’t a great way to start the visit.
I decided to stay back and go to the Farmers Market on my bike and meet my sister. I don’t like to see Curtis’ place. It’s dirty and disorganized. I’ve helped clean it before, when he was on work trips, but he would complain that I didn’t ask him first. Ugh. You can’t win sometimes. Now he can Clean is place and I never want to see it again. Kind of extreme, but I’ve been traumatized. The diarrhea from the dog in the back patio was disgusting and so hard to clean up. I just can’t believe anyone can live like that.
My rant is over.
Time to make dinner. Had a turkey taco salad last night with Frito corn chips. So good. Not sure what’s on the menu tonight.
Take care Angie. Hoping tomorrow is a good day.

It’s hard to let your kids live their lives the way they want to. Its especially hard for me with Older since she’s my roommate and we’re co-parenting Ben. I try very hard to treat her as another adult, she’s 31 years old, and not as mother-daughter… it’s hard to bite my tongue. I’m sure it’s just as hard for her.
We had clouds this evening… made the sunset beautiful. I miss part of it when I drive Daughter to work. I dont really miss it, I just cant take pictures while I’m driving. ๐
Gotta have fritos with taco salad! What I call taco salad anyway… I cook taco meat with seasonings like usual, only not as much. I also warm up some V8 juice and put taco seasoning in that.
Then on a plate I put refried beans, kinda smeared on the plate, then fritos, then meat, then cheese, lettuce, tomato and ladle some of the warmed up v8 over all of it, sour cream on top and its taco salad ala Angie๐
