Part 231 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.

I took my Science Data Gathering pictures and a few pretties later. During sunset the Parrots went by… they were flying very fast and they were quiet. There was no circling around, there was no squawking… the feeling was somber, like they knew that all was not right. It was still a joy to see them, and I took WAAAY too many pictures of them, but they were far away very quickly and most of the pictures are crap.

Ben ate his “white chicken”, and BFF came over while I was taking, then editing the pictures. Meds at 5:45pm, bath at 6pm… relaxed and on schedule. BFF and Daughter talked about election stuff, so I heard the first information from them. I then tried to tune out the discussion, cuz I dont wanna know about predictions, and speculation. I want to know facts. They’re both nurses and BFF just finished RN school, after she takes her state test she will officially be a Registered Nurse. She plans to eventually become an NP, Nurse Practitioner. Daughter is obviously thrilled for BFF, they’ve been friends for over fifteen years, but Daughter was also very envious. Getting pregnant with Ben put her life on a different path. She’s sad because she’s not graduating from RN school too.

After his bath, Ben and Zeus went to bed. BFF stayed for a little while, then left. Daughter went to her room. I was trying to catch up on reading all the posts from Wednesday and occasionally dozing. I had eaten the rest of my veggie spring rolls while picking up, straightening up, cleaning up the disaster that was the living room. UGH! I could do a rant about it, but it’s not Monday, so no Peeving.

I finally got through all of the Wednesday posts (I hope I didn’t miss any) and was reading Rory’s Thursday Hello post and it was nearly 11pm. I sent an email to a friend, then took my pill. I was konked out by midnight or very soon after.

I got the Yelling Run-By today shortly before 6am. It took me a minute to find my phone and check the time. Ben was yelling from the living room “Gramma? Gramma come living room, please.” I told him I was coming, just moving slow. My left hip was all kinds of achey and I was logey too.

I put my stuff down, got the Coffee Dragon to blurp and hiss, and peeked out the kitchen window. Lots of clouds and fading red color… I had to go take pictures. It was pretty chilly outside, so I came back in, grabbed Ben’s stuff, refilled his water bottle and gave him the box of Apple Jack’s, the box was almost empty, seemed silly to put it in a baggie or bowl.

I gave Dogzilla some attention and a scoop of kibble, then took more pictures… some from the kitchen window, and some from outside. I left Sven covered for the time being. Ben decided he didn’t want the cereal and grabbed the jumbo bag of Starbursts his godmother had given him. He was picking the red ones out. UGH!! The 6:30am med alarm didn’t go off, again. I discovered it no longer existed, which would explain why it didn’t go off yesterday or today. I recreated it, then gave Ben his meds… after waiting for him to thoroughly and completely chew, then swallow the Starbursts in his mouth. Then, more pictures

I didn’t notice that my avian friend photo bombed me, in the second to last picture, until I was editing. It added a bit of joy and Magic to my morning. Around 7am I uncovered Sven and turned his lights on. He was NOT ready to face the day. Once again, I commiserated. I waited to see if he was going to go after the two worms hiding under the wilty greens, but he gave me a Look, so I got him fresh greens and topped them with the leftover berries and the two worms. Then I paparazzi’d til he glared.

I settled on the couch with Ben , after fetching a soda, of course and just did my thing, while he did his. We just hung out until Daughter got up at 10am. She took over Couch Sittin Duty and I gave my report. I got a refill from the Coffee Dragon and went to get Horizontal.

I hollered out the med alarm at 10:30am and about fifteen minutes later Ben Bounced, then joined me on the bed. He actually got under the blankets. He watched his tablet, occasionally offering prompts and I gave the correct responses, I went through my WP comments and started on my Reader. The vibe was still groovy. Very nice!

Ben was back and forth for the rest of the morning into the afternoon. He would hang out with me in my room for a while, then he’d go back to the front rooms to do his Chalk Thang. He wasn’t as hyped up today. You all know I’m a believer in the woo woo, juju, Magic and I think all the election chaos, and the new UK lockdown upset the Ether yesterday, and I think Ben felt it. Or he felt me feeling it, and Older Daughter was just upset and worrying and projecting Worst Case Scenarios. It does seem contradictory that Ben is SO hyposensitive body-wise, but possibly hypersensitive perception-wise. But when one of our other five senses is weak, we build up a different one to compensate. So by that analogy, it makes sense that he would be a “sensitive”.

2:30pm meds were given in the Chalk Area, which is in front of the stove today. Daughter watched her shows on her laptop and cut up all the ingredients for the parmesan chicken and cheese tortellini soup. Not that today is a “soup” kind of day… the weather Guessers were wrong, or they’re wrong now… it was predicted to be 95°F (35°C) today… when I checked the site around 12:45pm it showed 92°F (32°C). It was cloudy, hot and gross outside. This IS November, right? Summer ended six weeks ago, right? What the Hello Kitty is up with this weather?! Fitting actually… since our Government refuses to accept Climate Change as a real issue, dropping out of the Paris Climate Agreement.

It’s time for Sciencey Stuff. Dinner, bath and bed to follow…

The “world as we know it” is broken, scrapping it and rebuilding is what is needed IMO. We need real change, and it’s gonna be messy, but continuing on as we are/have been would be messier. I welcome the change. I still believe that most people are basically good… or at least NOT sociopaths.

It’s The End Of The World As We Know It – REM

I’m glad you came by to hang out with us today. A lot different from yesterday, eh?! Things are always changing here at Casa Cuckoo, keeps us on our toes. One thing never changes though… we like to have fun Adventures and lots of laughter. It’s supposed to be cooler tomorrow, maybe it will snow… it honestly wouldn’t surprise me. I think we’re all kinda losing our ability to be surprised by anything that happens this year. We’ve got zero plans for tomorrow. Let’s just see what happens… ¡Hasta mañana!

  1. Sounds like a chill day – nice! Holy cow, I know all about the tornado of mess that follows two little people in our house. I think they took a class or something because they are pro mess makers. Always a trail and left overs. In a couple of the photos it looks like Sven is smiling. 🙂 I hope you have a great night and a great day ahead!

    1. Thanks Robyn! It’s been a good day & evening. Just about time for meds then bath. Beautiful sunset. Completely different from yesterday.

I waded into the news this afternoon… WOW!☹ Stay safe. You’re in a very hotly contested area.💝

      1. Thank you! I will. I am nervous. I plan to go to the store early tomorrow and get stocked up so we don’t have to go out. There are a lot of angry people out there that do not want to hear “count the votes.”

        1. I haven’t left, except to go in the backyard since yesterday morning WallyWorld pickup. There are quite a few BA Trucks (as Jeff would say) in my area with flags in the back… American & Confederate… get plenty of waffle mix & sprinkles 😉

  2. I sort of wish I could glare like Sven. I bet it would come in handy for lots of things. You have the most beautiful skies there. Thank you for sharing them with us. 🐉💃🏼🎶🤗💖

    1. Sven really is good a glaring. I think it’s cuz of the triangle-head… he has to put it ALL in one eye🤣🤣🤣
I’m happy to share the sky. Mother Nature has been giving us quite a show! 🌠✨💕🦋💃🏼🦜💫💝

    1. It’s been an excellent day. I even looked at the news real quick… it made me sad☹ It shouldn’t be so close. The US is truly divided at a deep fundamental level.

We have our work cut out for us… you & I on opposite sides of the world, trying to spread hope and tolerance. 💕🤗🥰

  3. I’m doing mental math and projections 16 time an hour. Hopefully when I wake up in the morning, it will all be over. A hearty thank you to my brethren in PA and GA who are spending all week counting votes.

    1. I’m gonna tell you, like I told Robyn… Be Careful, Stay Safe! Pennsylvania is a dangerous place to be right now.

The count on the popular vote makes me SO sad! SO many people believe as the Orange Idjit does… it’s unfathomable. Our country in NOT even close to united. We’re in the middle of another civil war already.
      Stay safe!

      1. Well, I think my county is safe. The counting is done and Trump won 66% of the vote. I think my neighbors are content. Sort of scary how things are amping up on social media just like predicted. When the election is called tomorrow, things will really hit the fan.

  4. Good song choice – and very true words about needing real change; things are seriously messed up. I’ve noticed before, with children I’ve worked with, that those who struggle verbally are extremely good at picking up clues from our body language and how we are feeling. Glad you got to have a chill day.

    1. It was a good day! The sunset was beautiful last night too… you’ll see in today’s post. It’s 15-20 degrees cooler today, which is nice. Not a bad Friday so far🎶💃🏼
Hawklad obviously has good taste in music😉🎶
I hope you get some rest and have lots of laughs this weekend!!💌💌💌

  5. One, the “photo bomb” picture is really cute. It’s as if Birdie is saying “I’m patiently waiting for you to realize that I’m prettier than the sky. Come on, focus down here…”

Two, one of these days I am going to memorize ALL the words to “It’s the End of the World”. I’ve been trying for years but I haven’t quite gotten there… 🙂

    1. An admirable goal! Something to drunkenly entertain guests with😉😂 I just sing the chorus… badly🤷🏼‍♀️
Seagull has a friend and/or mate now. Two together photographed this morning. I swear one was posing when it was alone and I was talking to it. Batting its wings, puffing its feathers… I should’ve videoed.🤦🏼‍♀️
