If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Ben hung out in my room with me. I went out to take pictures a few times, but the sunset was mild, mellow… it was nice, but without clouds, or other particulates (Sciencey word) there’s nothing for the light to play with, or off of.
Ben had pizza for dinner. We cook half of a frozen pizza and he never eats all of it. I’ve thought of splitting it into thirds but that might be difficult to do. Anyway, he ate, then had his meds and bath. All good. We took Daughter to work and came home and The Boys were tucked in, and wished good sleepies.
Then all the usual blah blah blah… by 10:30pm I was ready to take my pill. Amazing, right?! I was out before 11pm.
Ben got in bed with me at some point. I have no idea what time it was… sometime before 5am. I’m thinking it was way before 5am, cuz at 5:00 he was asleep. I dozed for a little while longer then got up to go look at the sky…

I like to see Venus if I’m awake. Ben had rolled into the warm spot I’d left when I got up, and it was almost 6am anyway, time to start getting myself and his stuff ready.
The next hour was madness and grumpiness. Ben yelled about everything… “No Bus! Stay Home! Long Pants! Red Tie!” He didn’t want to get out of bed, he didn’t want to get dressed, he just didn’t wanna! While I understood and commiserated, Too Dang Bad! Finally at 7:00am we were headed to get Daughter. I saw the seagull (Two people have now suggested that Gull and friend/mate need names. I’d like to know your suggestions.) as I was trying to get Ben in the car. It flew over the house and I said Good Morning, but I couldn’t get a picture cuz my hands were full of Ben’s stuff. At least I got to say Good Morning, right?!
We got to the hospital a few minutes early and waited. Daughter came out, got in, and we headed home. She told me the COVID unit is full so they’ll be creating another one. If that one fills up, her unit will be the next to change. Swell…
We got home, got the chair out of the back of the car (see… smart), I put it in the car last night so there was no reason to go up to the house. And we waited… I wandered a little, looking at the places my gull friend liked to land, hoping to see him/her again. The GLYSB arrived at 7:31am, one minute late. We waved, I Danced right there on the street, then up the driveway. Daughter went straight to her room. I went to the back gate, looking for seagull, then came in to uncover Sven. I got him fresh greens and topped them with the leftover berries and worms. He was ready to eat today, so I paparazzi’d him until he Glared…
then I went to get Horizontal and go through my email and yadda yadda yadda…
I spent the time Ben was in school doing a whole lot of nothing. I did some WP stuff and I dozed. It felt really warm, so I checked the Guessers site… uh, yeah… 91ยฐF (33ยฐC) with 11% humidity is warm and dry! No wonder I felt itchy.
Ben got home at 1:47… very much early. I guess the 2:05pm drop off was a piece of fiction. He was in a good mood, which was nice. He hung out with me in my room until after his 2:30pm meds, then he went to the dirt hole for some digging and concrete busting. He would be excellent at a demolition job!
I took my Science pictures around 3:30pm while eating Tiny Tacos and fries from a Jack In The Box delivery. I was shocked about eating during the day too, but I was hungry. Maybe I’m starting a new habit with the New Moon. I know I need to put some weight on. Now it’s time for pretty sunset pictures. Time for my nightly relax and recharge. Daughter is off work for a few days. No stress about getting Ben ready to Drive Miss Daisy.
I heard this on the radio when I was Driving Miss Daisy last night.
Thanks for doing nothing with me all day. Isn’t it awesome to just chill? I mean, there was that crazy time before the GLYSB came, but that’s part of our “normal” here at Casa Cuckoo. Tomorrow is another GLYSB day, and I have my monthly appointment with my pain doctor to get my pump filled. Come along, we’ll check my weight while we’re there. See if I’m still losing or hopefully I’ve put a few pounds back on. Also, what would you name Gull and friend/mate? ยกHasta maรฑana!

HUGS!

Iโm sorry to hear about the COVID unit being full. Thatโs concerning. The sunset looks magenta! Is it as purple as it seems in the photos. Theyโre beautiful and Sven always makes me giggle. I hope everything goes well at the pain doctor tomorrow. Hugs! โจ๐๐ซ๐คโค๏ธ

The sky isn’t quite as purple as the “pro” setting makes it look
Or maybe it IS and our human eyes don’t see it truly๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ I read somewhere that our eyes don’t see certain color waves as well as others… more Science๐
Sven is definitely good for a giggle. He went into a Food Coma after eating today๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ flat on the bottom of his terrarium right next to the food dish.๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ผ๐ฆ๐

I read something like that about colors too. It makes me wonder what colors we might still not be able to see. Pretty cool ๐ ๐

I love your palm trees, sigh. A name for Gull and mate huh. Iโm going to have to get back to you on that one. Sounds like COVID numbers are skyrocketing everywhere.

It cracks me up how much people love palm trees. I guess it has to do with what you’re used to. I’ve seen palm, eucalyptus, jacaranda and magnolia trees my whole life. Oh, and pines… lots of pines.
Looking forward to your name choices.๐

Magnolia trees! Okay apparently there is an actor named Steven Seagull and and an actress Katey Seagull of course not spelled that way. There are cute names like Gulliver or Gullbert, Salty, Sealia, Mythological names connected to the sea like Poseidon and Undine. Sorry Iโm not very puny.

I like Katey, she was on Married With Children, don’t like Steven… he bugs. I was thinking something with a “G” also… I like alliteration… and I like the mythology angle too. Cool Melanie! Thanks.๐

Another cool day!!!! The rising cases of covid are a concern. Stay safe my friend. Hope tonight and tomorrow are great days too. ๐ค๐ค๐ค

Thank you, Sadje! I hope your Tuesday is terrific!
Yes, the rising numbers are a concern. We’ve been moved to the higher restrictions tier. And the Governor is asking tourists & people who travel to other states for pleasure to quarantine on return. The spike is from people infected around Halloween. Partiers wanna party! People still aren’t taking it seriously.
We lead very hermit-like lives at the Casa. The grocery store & the doctor are the only places I go๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
It would take a LOT more cases for Daughter’s unit to be switched to a COVID unit.

It is so unfortunate that educated people are paying no attention to this threat. Take care.

Look at that sky. Awesome. Covid units filling up, you would have thought we would have fit in top of the planning side by now. xxx

Everyone went a little wild around Halloween and the numbers are showing it. Idjits are ruining things for everyone. โน

My computer got hijacked for hours this morning on an update. Ugh! I am so behind. I know you can relate to the “I’m behind schedule” frustrated feeling ๐ My goodness, that was D this morning. He didn’t want to get up, he didn’t want to get dressed, he didn’t want to go to school. We had actual tears this morning. He’s still there, and I am hoping he had a good day. When I packed his lunch this morning I saw that he didn’t eat his yogurt yesterday. Closer inspection revealed that he tried to open it and couldn’t. Which made me realize how the kids are spread out and not allowed to touch each others things. Poor guy. Couldn’t dig in. Hopefully today, he was able to get one open and have a good day. I hope your pain appointment went well and you had a great day!

Sorry about the hijackโน it’s SOOO frustrating being “behind”. Especially when family doesn’t get how we can be behind.๐๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐
I am behind too. The pump fill appointment ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ I even planned ahead and had stuff for today’s post done, but I got sucked into a beautiful sky and seagulls this morning. ๐๐ plus I was escaping Ben, who hijacked my bed at 5:30am and continued with his “No bus today” repetitions. I’m almost glad he doesn’t have school tomorrow. Almost๐
I hope D got to eat his lunch and had a good day. They should be scanning Ben on in the next 5-10 minutes.๐ค fingers crossed for good day.
Now… back to trying to “catch up”๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐

Up to their old tricks with the school bus again, I see – those extra minutes are precious!

They really are! Especially when it’s still only 2 days a week. I’m grateful for those two days!

Despite being one of the two who mentioned you should name the gulls, I’m having a rough time coming up with something fun. (Me? Can you imagine?) I did think of “Georgie Gull”, a play on the song and movie from the 60s and one that is somewhat asexual since we don’t know how the gulls gender-identify. But I can’t think of a companion name. This is going to bug me late into the night… ๐

I tried out a few suggestions when I saw them this morning… they flew away at Thor & Poseidon… no response to Sammy, Salty, Freddie or Bartholomew ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐๐
I had a very close encounter this morning… today’s post will of course, include photos.๐
Oh, btw you’re the first to give names…”Reynaldo & Lucia”๐ I’ll try those out next.
