If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Ben played in the dirt hole until dark, then sat with Daughter, watching his tablet and eating. I was taking pictures of the pretties…
I was editing when the 5:45pm med alarm went off, I hollered it out, then ran his bath a little after 6pm. I got him cleaned up, then got everything else cleaned up. Daughter took him and Dogzilla to bedtime and went to her room. He stayed awake for a while and was doing his fake, loud laugh thing, and was getting louder and louder. Daughter went to tell him to hush and saw he was eating McNuggets. (Sometimes he doesn’t fall asleep right away and winds up riding the “high” of his night meds… getting the “munchies” is part of that “high”. I always put snacks on his table with his water.) A full belly probably helped him go to sleep. Food Coma combined with meds is pretty powerful. I take advantage of it myself.
Things, Stuff, a couple emails… the usual. I got some vitamin K2 from WallyWorld and took one with my sleeping pill. A Blogging Buddy directed me to info that K2 might help my plaque psoriasis, so another bit of Science… I’m experimenting on myself. I’ll keep you updated.
My morning started waaaay too early. A heat-stealing “cuddle” at 4am. He wanted me to go to the living room right away, but it wasn’t happening. I finally gave in around 5:30am, still too early, but reasonable.
Morning stuff… the usual. I got to try out a few of the suggested names on the gulls. Mostly I got no response, but they flew away when I tried Thor and another time when I tried Poseidon. I’ll keep trying out names, so far nothing seems to pique their interest.
The first picture shows Venus. I didn’t include more sunrise pictures because they were pretty, but nothing dramatic. Plus, I wanted to include the pictures of the gulls. The last few show a couple crows landing next to the gull. The gull decided the crows needed to leave and spread its wings and hopped from the end to the middle of the cross-beam. The crows left. The gull preened a little, then it left too.
I peeked at Sven around 8:30, but he was still sleeping, so I left him covered and dark. It was still chilly in the house. At 10:15am I uncovered him and turned his lights on. He needs the UV light for his health. He opened his eyes, Glared at me and closed his eyes again. I left him alone.
Daughter rolled out around 11:15am to take over Couch Sittin Duty. I had gone to check on her around 10am to make sure she was okay. Ben had been out in the dirt hole, making a bunch of noise and I was surprised she slept through it. The dirt hole is right outside her room. Anyway, she said she didnt fall asleep until 4:30am. I said “so you heard Ben get up?” She said she didn’t hear Ben, but she heard Zeus barking. I did NOT hear the barking, but I was out. I didn’t hear Ben get up, just felt the bedquake and the cold toes. I gave my report and went to get Horizontal.
I checked on Sven a couple times and he never moved. I guess he decided to take the day off. I envy his life. He didn’t even react when I told him he was gonna disappoint his fans again.
Ben hung out in my room or in the dirt hole or in the living room. Just another mellow afternoon. He kept giving Daughter kisses on her shoulder, very sweet. At one point he threw himself on my bed and said “no hugs, EVER AGAIN!” I said “wait a minute. I’M the one who buys the Pink Cookies. Why does Mom get all the kisses and I don’t get hugs ever again?!” He just laughed maniacally. Such a little weirdo! I know he’ll be in my bed stealing my body heat in the morning.
At 3:25pm the alarm on my phone said it was time for Science! I went to the gate a collected my scientic data, aka took pictures of the Sun going behind the apartment building.
It’s time to go watch the actual sunset, my nightly recharge… start winding down the day. That last little bit before Ben’s dinner, meds, bath and bedtime.
This is something I found browsing through the YoooToooob. It’s medieval and folk and cool IMO. Faun is a German band. It’s not Mongolian Metal, but The Hu have that covered.
Thanks for stopping by. And thanks for all the name suggestions. I’ll keep trying them out. Daughter goes back to work tomorrow night. That means laundry and a visit to the Quarter Ladys domain. Will she be there, or will Cleaner Lady be there? The Driving Miss Daisy resumes tomorrow night too. Our laying around, doing nothing days have ended for now… not that I generally do nothing, cuz there’s always something here at Casa Cuckoo. ¡Hasta mañana!
