If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
I took pictures and Ben played with his chalk. Daughter cooked “white chicken”.
Ben was so into doing the Chalk Thang with his new box of chalk that he forgot about eating. Daughter reminded and reminded him. I told her that she might have to put some in his mouth to get him started, but she didnt want to do that. He finally started around 6pm. She gave him his med around 6:10pm. While he was eating I brushed and rebraided his hair, then ran a bubble bath for him. He got in the tub around 6:30 and went to bed around 7:15. I’m not sure when he went to sleep, but he was quiet so it was all good.
Things and Stuff and working on an email but I was really tired. I kept dozing off and it wasn’t even 10pm. Then I accidentally sent it before I was finished. I sent a second one basically saying OOPS! And that I was tired, time to be done anyway. It was just a hello to a friend, the shortened version probably saved them from some inane babbling. I get tangenty and wordy when I’m tired.
I ate, took my pills and konked around 11:30 or 12. Daughter was video chatting with her “brother”. Brother is a guy she and BFF knew when they were all on the same Competition Cheer team. He had a rough upbringing, living with his Aunt, and Police Officer Uncle. His mother had drug problems. Aunt and Uncle were ultra conservative and he is gay. He didn’t officially “come out” until he’d left their house. Of course they disowned him, stupid people. He spent a lot of time at our house, and over the years lived with us for bits of time. He lives in Mexico City with his husband now, it’s been a few years since we’ve seen him. I call him “Mildred” because he’s more like an old “cat lady” than a young gay man. I have no idea how late they stayed up talking.
I know what time Ben got in bed with me… 4:03am. AY YI YI! I tried to doze some more… four hours of sleep isn’t enough, but Ben started kicking the front door at 4:30am. DANG IT! He could’ve asked me to go to the living room. So I got up, activated the Coffee Dragon early (it was set for 5am) and began Couch Sittin Duty.
I was getting ready to give Ben his meds when Daughter got up at 6:30. She held out her hand for the meds and I handed them over. Good thing too cuz she forgot to include one of the meds. She took over Couch Sittin Duty and I went back to my room and got under the blankets. I was cold. I went outside periodically to look at sunrise and to see if Georgie and Gracie had come by. No clouds this morning and no avian friends. It was a pretty quiet morning… outside.
Inside was NOT quiet.
Daughter waited until after 7am to start getting Ben dressed and ready. They go out to wait for the GLYSB at 7:20. Whenever it’s time to go, Ben starts looking around for stuff to take. It’s just a thing with him. Even if it’s just to Drive Miss Daisy, he has to have something with him. This morning he took a coffee can full of chalk and put it in his backpack. Daughter tried to take it out but Ben started yelling and scripting Angry Words. She got him out the door at 7:22 and the bus came a few minutes later. I just stayed out of the whole thing. It’s difficult to listen to them having a rough morning and I always worry that a bad morning will cause problems for the whole day. No Happy Dancing today. I didn’t even get a goodbye.
I stayed in bed under a blanket tent of my own for a while, going through my email and WP. Daughter made a bunch of plans for today, but that was before her long chat with “Mildred”. I kept waiting for her to get started but she never did. So I just lazed around. Time didn’t seem as slippery today.
Around 10:45am I heard crows. It’s not unusual, there are always crows around, but this sounded close. I went to look out the side door and saw a crow in the Pecan tree. I took a couple pictures then decided to video it. I kept hearing cawing, but it wasn’t coming from the crow I was videoing. I slowly went outside and toward the tree and saw a second crow. I watched them for a minute, silently asking for a feather. I didn’t ask out loud because I didn’t want to scare them away. I was enjoying watching them. They both flew off after a couple minutes… other places to visit I supposed.
I shared the video with a friend (I can’t use the video block here unless I upgrade from the “freeloader” plan) and they shared the poem about crows with me… “One for Sorrow, Two for Joy…” that made me happy. Two crows for joy!
Ben got home at 1:49pm and came in the house on a mission. I was in my room but heard Daughter asking what he was looking for? What he was doing? I heard sounds of stuff being moved around and falling over. I didn’t even want to know. His way of looking for something is to toss stuff in every direction. He really IS like Taz… a whirlwind of destruction. After about twenty minutes he went outside to the dirt hole. Daughter had made “white chicken” for him as soon as he got home, but he was to distracted or whatever to sit down and eat.
Ben stayed out in the dirt hole until 3pm or so, then he came inside, got his tablet and his white chicken and sat on the couch with Daughter. I took my Science Project pictures and wandered around the yard looking… I was looking for a feather, any feather. I collect feathers, and I’d found a grey one earlier. It’s smallish… the width of my hand in length. I don’t know what bird it belonged to, except it’s NOT a crow feather.
Daughter decided she wanted Funky’s for dinner tonight. I’d actually been thinking about that for a few days so I told her to order it and I’d go get it. It’s just about time for me to mask up and head over there. Easy night tonight. Ben has already had his big meal and he’ll have some fries to snack on… only bath and bedtime remain.
Another version of “Hurt”… it’s good!
Thanks for hanging out with us today. Way too early start, but that’s how it goes sometimes. We had a few Adventures, and an average day. No GLYSB tomorrow, but Daughter goes back to work so I figure she’ll send me to the Quarter Lady. Maybe we can all sleep in a little later tomorrow… that would be a fun Adventure for me. Who knows what will happen… at Casa Cuckoo it could be anything. ¡Hasta mañana!

4 AM! Uggghhh. Sounds like the day had some friction. Bummer. I can totally relate to the Taz part – If I go read for a few minutes, I just follow a wave of destruction, which is really just “I started this thing, and then moved onto this thing, all while I searched for this other thing.” Oh well! Here is hoping tomorrow is a really great day for you guys! And a good night too!

Yeah… Ben was having issues today. Hyper focus and selective hearing. I found out he thought it would be fun to knock down all the hangers that we dry clothes on outside… I’d just washed his mask… I think he launched it into the neighbor’s yard🙄🤦🏼♀️ He wasn’t horrible, just annoying. You know how it is. I hope he’s in a better frame tomorrow cuz there’s no bus til next Monday😫😫😂🤗🥰💕

It IS a light grey, but it’s small🤷🏼♀️ I suppose it’s possible and I’d like to believe it… but I AM a Sciencey Stuff Person and I must go with facts.👩🏼🔬🕵️♀️…just the facts ma’am.😂
Thank goodness it was an easy night cuz Ben was suffering from selective hearing. He had a really OFF day. Not bad, just… off. Hopefully he’ll sleep in til 6 or even 6:30😲😂😂😂🤗🥰💕🦋💃🏼✨

You know I’m all tingly about a potential Quarter Lady encounter. Yes, I should just let it go, but I can’t help it. We need resolution! 😉

I know… I know… I mentally prepare myself each time, and either she isn’t there, or she ignores me. I’m honestly thinking about getting $10 in quarters just to nudge her a little… see what happens.

Hey 😌 I’m taking a break from commenting and receiving comments. Probably just a temporary thing but I just wanted to say I’m still here and listening.

Listening is good. We have to be quiet to hear the small voice of wisdom.😉💕🤗🥰

Oh, that’s an early start – poor you! I love that poem – we do it for magpies here in the UK. It’s rare I get up to seven! Johnny Cash is still my favourite version of Hurt, I think.

My body shuts my brain down when I’ve been sleep deprived for too long. I start randomly falling asleep as soon as I stop moving 😂 You know how fun insomnia is. 🤷🏼♀️ Its bad enough when we cant sleep, then when they cant sleep… it’s a small miracle we dont get hurt more often in our sleep deprived zombie states.💌💌💌

How was his day at school? I thought he usually sleeps in on school days.
4AM is way to early, but at least you had help.
Have a good night Angie.

He did okay at school. There is no rhyme or reason with his sleep. He stayed in bed til 6:45 this morning, and he was awake 🤷🏼♀️
I hope things are calming down for you and your garden and baby chicks are doing well and keeping you occupied and happy! Hugs!!💌💌

Chicks are great. Spent hours cleaning their temporary coop in garage. Also helped hubby with critter proofing the outdoor coop and run. I’m getting tons of exercise and am exhausted.
Still going through Mom’s things. It’s hard.
But I feel close to her seeing her things around here.
Take care
