If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Last night, Ben ate his “white chicken” and I looked at sunset waiting for it to get dark enough to see Jupiter and Saturn. After he finished eating it was meds then bath. I was taking pictures in between running the bath and trying to get him away from his chalk and into it. With the pictures from my phone camera, I can’t see any separation between Jupiter and Saturn at all. They really appear as one. Did you see it last night?
I’m not posting any sunset pictures until the Big Reveal. The Sciencey Stuff Project is officially concluded. I have all my data, and I’m going to try to post it on 279… or maybe 280 cuz that’s a nice even number.
Anyway, moving on… Ben finished his bath and got into his jammas just as Auntie and Partner arrived to decorate the Christmas Tree. They got right to it since it was already past Ben’s bedtime. Ben helped at first, but then he started getting over-excited and started presenting ornaments to each person with a semi-scripting, semi-jibberish little speech. It was time for him to go to bed. Daughter told him to say Goodnight and give hugs and kisses as he wanted, and off to bed he went. He turned and gave a final Royal Command… “Finish the tree!” We promised we would. It is sloppily decorated, and it leans, but it’s a Casa Cuckoo Christmas Tree for sure.

Younger and Partner hung around for an hour or so after the Tree was done, talking and just hanging out. Younger also did a bit of “shopping”… two bags worth. It makes me giggle cuz I remember doing the same thing at my mother’s house.
After they left, Older Daughter went to her room, I went to mine, and did the usual. I ate around 9:30, and was overtaken by the Food Coma shortly after 10pm. I wrote a comment, was ready to press Send and then it was 2am. Dang, Dang, Dangitty Dang!
I sent the comment, took my meds, and got Bounced around 5:30am. I got up in time to see Venus and sunrise. Georgie and Gracie even stopped by for a visit.
Ben and I hung out on the couch, him under a blanket tent, until around 9:45am. He decided it was Dirt Hole time. I got more coffee and continued to edit pictures and go through my email. Daughter got up around 10:15am and the first thing she said was “Don’t give me a hard time. I was awake until 2:30am.” I told her I knew she’d been up at some point cuz her pizza was put away, and I wasn’t gonna give her a hard time anyway. After the Changing Of The Couch Sitters Ceremony, I got Horizontal.
The rest of the day was marked only by the med alarms. Ben played with his chalk or watched his tablet or played in the Dirt Hole, Daughter watched whatever she watched on her laptop, and I worked my way through my WP Reader and comments and tried to clear my emails. Just a mellow day. Younger called cuz she forgot to take our recycling last night. The cans and bottles that have redemption value. I remember a time we were so broke, we needed that recycling money. Now we save the stuff cuz none of us can throw it away. It’s too much against our training or nature or principles… whatever. We can NOT throw recycling in the trash, just can’t do it. Anyway, I was on my way to market for a Monster Energy drink for Older, and tatoe chips for Ben, so I just left it outside for her.
Daughter has a two hour COVID seminar before she starts her twelve hour shift tonight. Driving Miss Daisy will be at 4:30pm this afternoon/evening. Then I will have solo Ben Duty until bedtime. It shouldn’t be a problem and hopefully he’ll continue to be chill.
Chill groove for a chill day…
Another day’s Adventures coming to a close… tomorrow is gonna be a busy-ish day… It’s Casa Cuckoo Christmas Eve. We gotta get Daughter from work in the morning, and she has to sleep for a little while at least. Then cooking the Christmas Cheesy Taters, and the green bean casserole… the Honey Baked Ham is supposed to already be fully cooked and only need to warm up to room temperature. That will be a slow process in our cold house, but that’s good. Then after HRH is asleep, we’ll do the Great Wrap Party… but that’s tomorrow night… I’m sure other Adventures will find us. Or we’ll find them… come along with us! ¡Hasta mañana!

Great pictures! I can see how they align. I hope tonight we can see the planets again too.
I can’t believe it was cloudy last night on such a special night. But I get to see with your pictures – thanks for sharing!
What a pretty tree! I can relate to the lean. Ours has too for the past two years and we just laugh and say it is perfect for our family.
You guys had a chill day – nice! Sounds relaxing. And a special day planned for tomorrow. I hope you guys have a great night and a lot of fun with your special day ahead!

Thanks Robyn! We had clouds tonight🤣🤣🤣 I guess I’m VERY lucky that I got my Sciencey Stuff pictures and the planets.💃🏼
I asked Daughter if she wanted to fix the tree. She said just leave it.🤷🏼♀️
The Leaning Tree Of Casa Cuckoo😂 why not?! It’s 2020🤣🤣🤣
I hope you get everything done and no tears, no tantrums, and a little bit of Robyn Time. 🤞💕💝

No, I didn’t get to see it. Too many clouds. I was pretty bummed. It’s not like I can see it next week instead. Interested in your reveal.

I have clouds tonight. I guess I got lucky the sky stayed clear as long as it did. I’ll have to find out how much longer the planets will be visible. It will be fun to watch then separate again.
I was surprised at how far the Sun travels between the Solstices. It will be interesting to see if it hits the same mark at Spring Equinox that it did at Autumn Equinox. Theoretically it should.
Post 279 or 280 for the big reveal… 99% guaranteed… gotta leave 1% cuz life, Ben, life…😉😂

Awww… that sucks!☹ And thank you🤗🥰
Too bad I couldn’t get better pictures of it🤷🏼♀️ Next year I’m asking Santa, aka the daughters for a small telescope. Maybe they have one that hooks up to the camera even🤔 Then maybe I should get new glasses so I can actually SEE all the cool stuff I’m looking at🤣🤣🤣

The Tree is a mess!🤣🤣 it’s our mess though, so it’s all good. Ben probably will want to sleep in tomorrow, but we have to get Daughter from work. Still… sleeping in til 6:15 – 6:30 would be nice😉😂
Enjoy your Wednesday, Sadje!!💕💃🏼💝🤗🥰

It’s your special mess and that’s important. Sleeping in sounds just great. Sweet dreams.

I also remember the days when recycling was considered income, however little it might be, and not just the right thing to do.
I think the tree looks quite lovely. (Granted, I love Christmas trees anyway, but still.) Every tree is special, especially when you can spot all the unique and personal ornaments. They tell a story…

They definitely tell a story. Younger added the trailer this year. She and Partner are living in a trailer. Oh boy do I make fun of her for that!!

Lovely to see your tree – looks pretty. Daughter is home, so we are decorated up too now. I do enjoy a bit of Tame Impala.
