A Quiet Quickie For World Introvert Day

Today, January 2 is #worldintrovertday. I know that most of us are introverts by nature, even if we do like to occasionally socialize.

This site I’m linky-linking has some silly stuff, but also some really good stuff… in fact, they write that in some dictionaries and thesauruses some synonyms for

narcissist, egotist, brooder, mouse, icicle

https://introvertdear.com/news/4-reasons-we-still-need-a-world-introvert-day-jan-2/

is the word introvert. That’s just wrong.

Some copyable funnies

That’s the end of the Quiet Quickie. The Adventures are in progress and will be documented at the usual time.

    1. I’ve gotten email newsletters from them for a while, but had no idea there was a “Day”. Kinda sad to be equated with narcissism or be called an icicle.
Good stuff on the site to share with all the extroverts who think we’re weird too.😘

  1. Idk why there’s this hate on introverts, along with “sincere” articles trying to get us to change. Why the hell would we want to be like people who can’t bear to be alone? Introversion has served me well during this plague and I’m glad I know how to enjoy life without having to be in a giant crowd of yelling partiers. You never see articles trying to help extroverts shut up!

    1. Right?! I was really surprised to read those words as synonyms. I doubt extrovert has “obnoxious, tedious, annoying or bothersome” as synonyms.🙄🤦🏼‍♀️
      I guess that’s why there’s a “Day” now… has been for 10 years I think. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  2. Great post. I had no idea there’s a world introvert day. I’m also an introvert. By most of us, by the way, do you mean most of us in the blogosphere or most of us in the general population? I mean, I’ve heard on the Myers-Briggs personality test (which is flawed in its own right, but well) indeed slightly over 50% score as introverts.

    1. I meant most of my readers, but it applys to the blogosphere too I think.

I didn’t know that slightly over half scored as introvert. Interesting… I would’ve thought it was a smaller number, much smaller by the way introverts seem to be viewed as flawed.

  3. Well I screwed it up totally. I went hiking with my brothers and their families and then spent an hour in a really crowded asian market. Besides probably getting covid, I didn’t pay homage to my totally introverted nature at all. Should have gone on a solo hike.

      1. It was remarkable. This is the first time I’ve ‘exercised’ since falling off my bike three weeks ago. I thought I might struggle a bit. The hike turned out being much harder than everyone expected, but I got through without too much pain. I’m sure I’ll hurt tomorrow.
