Part 297 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.

Sunset last night was kinda Meh, but I still took pictures. Of course I did. I kept looking for Jupiter and Saturn but according to the site I use, they are so close to the horizon at sunset, I’d have to be at the beach or on top of a mountain to see them. It kinda makes me sad. I’ve been watching them for SO long. It’s like a good friend moving to a different city or state.

Steak for dinner, bath and Driving Miss Daisy all went okay. There was one more bit of frustration when I was tucking The Boys into bed… Ben couldn’t find his little ladybug stuffy. We wound up having to take ALL the blankets off, then put them back on, one by one. Finally settled, they were wished a Good Night.

I texted Daughter to let her know we were home safe, then did the Things and Stuff. I nuked some food, ate, took meds and slept around 11:30pm.

I woke at 3:30am and said to myself “Oh, hell NO!“, pulled the blankets higher and went back to sleep. I woke again around 5:30am and got up. I had almost thirty minutes of peace before The Boys bounded into the living room.

After I got Ben settled I went to look at the sky. Venus and the Moon were bright, I took a few pictures and went back inside. It was too cold for me. I went back out around 7am to look for my avian friends, but I think they’ve found somewhere else to have breakfast, or my absence lately is keeping me off their morning route, no birds. Even Mister Crow was absent.

I took a few pictures then Ben and I went to go get Daughter. We had to wait for the frost on the windshield to melt again. 37°F (3°C) is TOO cold for me. My fault partly… I was in my pajamas and sleeping hoodie. I did have my gloves on though.

Daughter was waiting and jumped up and practically ran to the car again. I think I actually could’ve done the rolling stop today. She said Good Morning to Ben, then told me to “Get the hell out of here!” We did just that.

Yadda yadda yadda… Couch Sittin Duty.

10:30am med, 12:30pm med… the only real markers of time passing. I was reminded by the alarms, not by watching the time to see if I could give them yet. It was a good morning and early afternoon. Younger’s Partner even brought some donuts from Krispy Kreme when they stopped by at 1pm to pick up mail. Sweet!!

Daughter got up and took over at 2:15pm. I asked her before she went to sleep “I know you’re exhausted, but since you’re off tonight could you please not sleep until 3:30pm today?” She agreed. I hoped she would get the hint that I was tired too, but an hour is better than nothing.

Ben got a little crazy after Daughter got up. He wanted a big box of chalk. When I told him the expected delivery was tomorrow, he grunt-growled and ran outside. I was in the process of taking the plastic off two of the twelve-piece boxes when he came back in, carrying a big stick. I’m sure his intentions were NOT good, but he saw the chalk, and stopped. I asked if he wanted one of the boxes. He said “Two.” Of course he did. I told him to take the stick back outside first, which he did. I gave him the two boxes and all has been groovy since.

Daughter is making the other half of the frozen pizza for his dinner. Meds, bath, and bedtime will follow. She is off work until Thursday night, so no Driving Miss Daisy. WOOT WOOT! Our clear, sunny skies clouded up. We might just have an interesting sunset tonight.

Always in the mood for Robert Plant…

In The Mood – Robert Plant

A pretty good day. Actually, the best day we’ve had all year. Haven’t these past ten days been eternal or is it just me? All the negative energy is flowing around… and that’s not all woo woo, mystical. I am a Scientist and I know that energy doesn’t just, POOF! go away. The First Law Of Thermodynamics. So, I think we’re all being affected. Today was pretty dang groovy though, so the energy must be changing. Great big Thank You! to everyone doing positive things, and keeping hopeful thoughts! Tomorrow’s agenda is laundry. Seriously! We’ve been putting it off and Ben is just about out of clothes. He grew. I don’t remember getting a memo about it, but then I may have forgotten. Anyway, laundry… exciting stuff! You won’t want to miss that. ¡Hasta mañana!

Things are always changing here. ALWAYS!
I’m wondering if Sven is gonna wake up any time soon🤔🦎 He opens an eye and glares at me then goes right back to sleep. I’m very envious!!😉😂😴😴😴

  2. It’s been super negative because of the news and Trump-supporters in denial. I had to end a friendship of 20 years yesterday. I could not tolerate the awful things he’s posted on FB, and a disgusting meme he shared about Kamala Harris. Many of my other friends already dumped him, but I was holding on. I found I have a new limit!

    1. That sucks that you had to do that, but good for you for sticking to your boundaries!🦋🌻💪
I guess the good thing about all this MAGA🐄💩 is that people feel free to spout their filth out loud. No more hiding it. I’d rather know if someone is a bigot, that way I can cross them off and move on.
I will NEVER understand that mindset. 🙅🏼‍♀️🤚💕

  3. I agree that the MAGA mess has encouraged the nasty folks to show their nastiness right away, and that IS a good thing, in at least one respect. I’d rather know right away that someone is a bigot and then I won’t waste any more time on them. Done, moving on… 😉
