Part 323 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.

I wound up going outside to look at sunset. I needed to go out to chill out. I missed the Parrots cuz I was taping yet another Sweeney Todd Barber Chair… UGH!!

Ben had his pizza, his meds, his bath, and after Daughter threatened to turn the shower on him, he got out of the tub and I got him dressed so we could Drive Miss Daisy. She remembered her phone. YAY!

The Boys were settled, Daughter was texted, and I did the Stuff and Things. I looked at my calendar just to see when President’s Day is and got excited all over again. I thought it was on the twenty-second, but it’s on the fifteenth, which means the GLYSB will come both days of the first week. WOOT WOOT!!

Anyway, I ate my food, took my pill and slept around 11:30pm. Several wakeups but I didnt get up until 6am. I let Zeus out on my way to the baño. Ben got up a couple minutes later, and the chaos began.

He went straight to the newest Barber Chair and started messing around. He moved the chair into the middle of the walkway, making my head nearly explode. I decided to go outside and look at the sky. I heard a crow and figured Mr Crow was calling me anyway. I saw a crow fly from the Pecan Tree as I walked out the side door. I guess Mr Crow was calling me. I saw Georgie and took a couple pictures but they were blurry. BOO!

I got myself and HRH ready and we went to get Daughter from work. She was waiting for us and practically ran to the car. Her shift wasn’t horrible, just busy and she was tired. We got home, she went to her room, and Ben and I settled in the living room. He asked for chalk, and it was Casa Cuckoo business as usual.

At 10:30am we Zoomed. It took me a few prompts to get him to come sit in front of the laptop, but he did it. Unfortunately, the other two kids weren’t having it today. While we waited to see if they would rejoin us, the teacher and three aides played stuff from Ladybug and Cat Noir for Ben. When one other kid joined, they started the lesson. The lesson was dinosaur videos. Ben got bored, grabbed his tablet and watched that. Whatever, half his face was visible, so it counts, right? The teacher ended it early, nobody was feeling it today.

I got Ben a forty-eight piece box of chalk, hoping that would keep him entertained for a while. I hadn’t had much of a chance to do WP stuff cuz he’d been very demanding. Peasant duties before blogging, he’s a strict monarch.

The chalk kept him occupied for a while, then he was back to the Sweeney Todd Barber Chairs. He needed tape, he needed this fixed or that fixed. I did as HRH commanded and before I knew it, the 2:30pm med alarm was going off. It kinda surprised me cuz Daughter said she was setting her alarm for 1:30pm when she went to lay down. She got up and took over at 2:45. I told her about Zoom, then went to get Horizontal.

Today’s thing that I lurve for Paula’s daily thingy, is hockey, specifically the Detroit Red Wings. Younger Daughter and I drove up to Anaheim to see the Wings play the Ducks a few times. It was a big splurge treat to myself, and we’d stay in the hotel across the street from the arena. We haven’t gone in a few years. The money has been needed elsewhere… such is life.

Younger called me a little after 3pm to see if a package she was expecting got delivered. I went to look but it wasn’t here. We talked as she drove home from work. After I got off the phone, I went to look for Ben. He was sitting in the dirt/mud hole, completely naked. Never a dull moment at Casa Cuckoo!

It’s getting to be about that time. After rushing around last night getting things cleaned up and ready for Driving Miss Daisy, and stressing myself out, I decided I need to start all the stuff earlier. Especially if I want to watch sunset, which is getting later. Time, time, time… where does it go?

Because it’s a fun song

Punk Rock Girl – The Dead Milkmen

Another decent day. It felt like I was busy all day long though I didnt really do anything. Thank goodness tonight is Daughter’s last night of work, so no Driving Miss Daisy tomorrow night. We still need to pick her up in the morning, and I’ll still have Couch Sittin Duty all day, but no Zoom. No clue what else will happen. I never have a clue. ¡Hasta mañana!

  2. Love the photos! I haven’t been to a hockey game in forever. I have no idea why out of all the sports those tickets are so darn expensive! But it is a nice treat.

I loved The Dead Milkmen when I was in high school. I haven’t listened to them in a while. Nice treat!

I hope you guys have a wonderful day today! Nice and chill. The GLYSB comes in two weeks! Yay!

    1. Yeah, the tickets we got were like $250 each🙄🤦🏼‍♀️ but I wanted the best seats for my special splurge. The room was another couple hundred. It used to crack me up when I’d get calls and emails from the Ducks wanting me to buy tickets. I only went there cuz it’s the closest team to my house, about 90 miles away.

So much great music and I forget about bands or songs, then I hear something on the radio, or YouTube algorithm throws something in my feed, and I’m like “oh yeah! I remember that!”

No major drama so far this morning.💃🏼 I hope it lasts🤞 I hope your weekend is off to a great start!💕✨🌻🥰
