If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Today’s thing that I love for Paula’s Daily Lurve prompt is Parrots! I found these pictures that I’d taken in August 2020. They’re not great quality, but it was in daylight and you can see their color.
Ben continued to be in a mood last night, telling me to get dressed, go to the store… yadda yadda yadda. I took a few pictures of sunset, then missed a big part of it cuz he wanted me to Write The Words, aka write out the names of the cast of a movie. Any guesses which movie he picked? Yep! Sweeney Todd. I will be SO glad when we moves on to the next interest in his repertoire.
There was also a thing with Younger going on. Not a big thing, but her feelings got hurt and it just added to the stress of the evening. She called in the middle of trying to get Ben to eat, right before I ran his bath, wanting to vent and felt like I wasn’t giving her my attention.
We got Daughter to work and The Boys were settled. Younger called and we talked about earlier and everything was okay. I did the usual, texted with Older around 10pm, and konked out around 11pm.
I got Bounced at 3:45am. I did NOT want to get up! Ben was laying across me, literally Bouncing. Gramma was not pleased. I tried to get him to lay down with me but he wasn’t having it. I unintentionally dozed back off, and woke to him kicking the front door. “OKAY! OKAY! I’M GETTING UP!” So began my day’s Couch Sittin Duty.
We got Daughter from work, and she announced she was going to stay up. I told her to go to bed, but she started getting pissy about it, so I gave up, and went to my room. Crackerjack Ben followed me, as I knew he would. By 10am I’d had enough of the bedquakes and getting stepped on and bumped into, so I got up and went to hide in the baño. Daughter announced that she needed to go lay down. So I was back on Couch Sittin Duty… after I cleaned up the disaster in the living room.
At 10:50am I went and got the laptop for Zoom School. Ben was already sitting on the couch next to me. I tried to get the stupid Zoom to launch until 11:07. I finally went and woke Daughter up, and she fiddled with it a few minutes and gave up. Alrighty then. I was kinda bummed for Ben since Tuesday is his Speech and OT day, and he loves both teachers. Oh well, he’ll get to see them in person in a couple weeks. I gave him the ginormous box of chalk cuz it wasn’t his fault Zoom wouldn’t work, and I’d promised him a big box if he did good on Zoom today. If I promise, I deliver.
Ben did his chalk thang and I read through my WP Reader. The morning became the afternoon with med deliveries, coffee refills and scripting conversations being the excitement. Sven glared from his hammock and gave me side-eye when I stopped to talk to him. Zeus barked at passing thoughts outside.
Around 3pm I went outside to look at the sky and feel the Sun. I walked back and forth around the side and back of the house a couple times, took some pictures, talked to a crow. Then Ben came running out to get me, and bring me back inside. Back to Couch Sittin Duty I went, after I fulfilled the request for Pink Cookies.
Daughter got up around 3:45pm and took over. I went to get Horizontal. My back was very happy to be on my bed instead of the couch. Ben will probably have an early night tonight since he got up so early. Lots of clouds when I was outside earlier, so I’m hoping for a pretty sunset.
I heard this band on the radio while Driving Miss Daisy last night, different song, but it took me a minute to identify the band. When I made the I.D. I was like DUH! So many fantastic songs, and I’d let them slip to the back of my mind. I’m glad I heard “Misunderstanding” last night.
Another Way Too Early start, followed by hyperactivity and Failure to Zoom. (sounds like a broken law or medical problem… Failure To Zoom) Thank goodness things settled down, and thank goodness Daughter is off work tonight. I don’t have any plans for tomorrow, but I’m sure HRH will find something for me to do. He always does. ¡Hasta mañana!

HUGS!

3:45? Ugghh. What a tough time to start and sounds like last night and this morning were as tough as you feared they might be last night. Zoom stinks. That does stink that he didn’t get to see his speech or OT person – those are the people D will make exceptions to see even on his snow days. I hope Ben does crash early tonight and sleep in tomorrow so you can catch up. And that you all have a very nice day tomorrow!

I do! I have to pick up our completed taxes but then I want to run to the store to get them some little candy treats for valentines day. We don’t really celebrate the day, I just like to give them a little something pink and heart-y for fun. 🙂 Tomorrow is my chance to get out and get back without anyone seeing me! But then they are a half day on Thursday and off on Friday and Monday – so I’m going to enjoy the time while I’ve got it!

Thanks, Sadje! Tuesday was a looooong day. I got a little more sleep Tuesday night, and today (Wed) started at a reasonable time, but it’s been a chaotic Casa Cuckoo morning. Not bad, just busy🙄
I hope you had a good day🤞 Restful sleep and sweet dreams!!😴🌠✨💫🌻🦋💕🥰

I am all admiration for how you manage all day with so little sleep and so much patience. Lots of hugs my friend

I think quite a few of us have ‘Failure to Zoom’ or at least are a ‘Failure on Zoom’! I certainly can’t get the hang of it and have given up. Our choir meets on Zoom now every week but it is weird singing out of sync by yourself! 🙂

Oh, that would be weird, since the camera moves to whoever is speaking… I can imagine how it must jump around with a whole choir.
I’m hearing that in the U.S. we’ll probably be on some restrictions through summer at least. I figure that maybe 2022 will be the start of the “new normal”🤷🏼♀️💌💕

Yes, two years of hell. Let’s hope the ‘new normal’ is better than the old normal! 😂❤️

Poor Ben. Must be a nightmare for him. No fun for you. Thinking of you. ❤️

I don’t know if it’s the ADHD, the autism or something uniquely Ben, but he’s had sleep issues since birth really. He didn’t nap as a toddler and at age 3 we begged his doctor for something to help him sleep. We’d tried melatonin already and it didn’t help. He was staying awake until midnight some night, sleeping maybe 5 hours.
They’ve always been super cautious with his medications but he’s always been under-medicated IMO. He metabolizes things so quickly, the meds don’t last the 4 hours they’re supposed to.
I know it has to be rough on him, and I try to remember that when my last nerve is fraying.🙄🤦🏼♀️

Too often the medics don’t listen to those who know the situation the best. xx
