Part 343 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.

Ben slept and I watched sunset. Still zero clouds, and not much change, but we ARE approaching the Vernal or Spring Equinox. I’m very curious to see if the Sun will set at the same place it did on the Autumnal Equinox. It should. Within a day or two, either way. Even though I’m a photographer/paparazzi now, and occasionally a plumber, on top of everything else, I’m still an Astronomy Sciencey Stuff person.

We tried to gently wake Ben up a couple times, but he wasn’t having it. Daughter got him to sit up and take his meds around the usual time. She tried to get him to eat, but he kept dozing with food in his mouth, not good. She had him go to the baño, wash his hands and face, then into clean jammas, and tucked in bed. Zeus goes and lays down on the foot of Ben’s bed as soon as he hears “bedtime”. He can be smart when he chooses to be.

The rest of evening was the usual. I had all my Things and Stuff done, and food eaten by 10pm. I was reading an article, then it was 3am. Dag-nabbit OFF switch. I saw that I hadn’t taken my pill, but 3am was definitely too late. I dozed in and out until 5am.

I got Bounced, sniffed, bedquaked, stepped on, jostled and generally disturbed. I was kinda surprised Ben slept as late as he did. I pulled myself into the fetal position and tried to be very small, but both Boys sought me out. I am SO loved… bless their hearts.

Around 6:15am I got out of bed. I couldn’t take anymore bouncing, and it was almost time for Ben’s meds. Of course I was followed. I got Ben’s stuff, my stuff, then doped his face. Time to start the Casa Cuckoo Rube Goldberg Machine.

I was surprised, and very happy to see FOG outside this morning. Thank The Flying Spaghetti Monster that the high pressure was going, or gone. I went out to take pictures and look for my avian friends. Of course I was followed. I was back and forth a few times, but finally stayed inside cuz all the back and forth was getting Ben wound up.

Daughter got up around 7:15am. Ben had already started buggin about a new box of chalk. I still don’t have a delivery date for my latest order, so I can’t even tell him when. Not that it would matter. Daughter took over the living room, (I hadn’t done Couch Sittin, only a brief “Throne” Sittin) and I went to my room. Of course I was followed.

Ben kept on about the chalk. He was working himself up. Daughter found a box of sixteen piece, and gave it to him. She’d ordered some from Amazon that’s supposed to come some time tomorrow. I was still gonna have to go on the Great Search.

He settled a little bit after Daughter gave him the chalk, but thirty or forty-five minutes later he was asking for more. UGH! My alarm went off for my walk, so I changed clothes and headed out. I added some more distance, but kept the same time, thirty minutes. I was walking faster today, not stopping to take pictures or groove on the day. A hummingbird hovered in front of me a few seconds, then flew away. That made me smile.

Ben and Daughter were on the couch together when I got home. Everything was okay, so I went to my room. Of course I was followed. Ben wanted “All the Kittys Gramma’s room.” I told him to go get them. He said, you know what he said, “I need help!” He actually did need help. He’d gathered them all into a pile on his old baby blanket, but he couldn’t grab all the corners to carry them. He has a LOT of Kittys! I brought them into my room.

We relaxed on my bed until around 11am. I needed to get a few things from, and hopefully, chalk. I got lucky, and found a grip of sixteen piece chalk at the first stop. I grabbed four boxes, then the other drugstore stuff on my list, then I grabbed some Cadbury Eggs, and Reese’s Eggs. Yum!

Onward to the next stop, Vons, to get Ben’s meds. Inside Vons, which is my local grocery store, there’s a Starbucks kiosk. Since there was no line, and Daughter gave me a bunch of gift cards she got for being a nurse, I treated myself to a grande Mocha add two shots, no whip. Then I went and got Ben’s meds, and headed home.

Today’s Lurve offering for Paula is COFFEE! I like it super strong, sweet, and creamy. I like hot coffee, iced coffee, coffee ice cream, coffee flavored candies. I even like choco covered espresso beans. I don’t have pictures of all that, so I took pictures of today’s Starbucks.

I got the stuff into the house and put away. Ben was still on my bed, watching his tablet. He stayed for a few minutes, then went to play in the living room. Zeus stayed, of course. I made a second attempt at my WP comments and Reader.

Ben got involved with setting up the dominoes he stole brought home from school. Since Zeus follows me everywhere, Ben’s dominoes got knocked down when I used the baño or went to the kitchen. Ben is pretty casual when they get knocked over, surprisingly. He doesn’t get upset, he just sets them up again. It figures that he got into the dominoes after freaking out about chalk for days, right after I scored some chalk. Welcome to Casa Cuckoo.

Some pictures of Sven… I know he has fans. He’s been sneaky about eating. I always catch him moving away from his dish. He is so moody!

Daughter konked out on the couch around 2:30pm. I offered to do Couch Sittin so she could rest before work, and she turned me down. Always extremes, and mule-headedness. She sleeps late and takes naps, or she tries to stay awake over twenty-four hours. No middle ground. Silly, IMO, but whatever.

PreGame Show and sunset coming up. No clue how either will go. Driving Miss Daisy tonight and no clue about that either. Onward…

Another rollercoaster day. I guess it’s a good thing that I can usually go with the flow, cuz things are never the same here. It’s not just the Casa though, outside things like weather, and Daughter’s work schedule can influence the mood. It can make the ride bone-jarring instead of smooth and fun. Daughter will be working the next three nights, so Angie will be Driving Miss Daisy and doing a whole lotta Couch Sittin. Yee Freakin Haw. We’ll have some fun though, right?! Is it Monday yet?
