Part 344 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.

I did the sunset thing, Daughter cooked half a frozen pizza for Ben, and everything stayed chill. Meds on time, bath followed, he even got out when I told him it was time. He didn’t eat until after his bath, but whatever, he ate.

We dropped Daughter off at work, no problems, all traffic laws obeyed, then headed back home. The Boys were settled in Ben’s room, and Daughter was texted.

Stuff, Things, and nuking food was done by 9pm. I ate my food and was texting with both daughters, I was waiting for Younger to send me something and Older was at work, so her texts were sporadic. I dozed… Older never did get back to me, Younger sent the things, I took my pill, and konked around 11:00pm or 11:30pm. I woke at 3:10am with achey hips. Sophie Cat laying on my hip wasn’t helping, so I shoo’d her, and got not comfortable, but less ouchie.

At 5:15am I heard Ben’s bedroom door slam open, pounding feet running down the hall, then felt the bedquake and ear-sniffing of Zeus’s arrival. I kept waiting for Ben to join us, but he never did. While waiting, I drifted, dozed… I got up around 6am to see what he was doing. I found him sitting on the couch with a blanket over his shoulders, playing with his alphabet letters. YAY Ben!!

My getting up broke the magic bubble, and regular Casa Cuckoo chaos reigned. Lots of back and forth outside cuz sunrise was pretty, all the usual getting myself and Ben ready to pick Daughter up from work… “normal” Morning Stuff. Included in “normal” was Ben buggin for chalk. I told him I’d give him a sixteen piece box after we got home with his Mama. Cue Angry Words scripting… Heavy Sigh!

We got Daughter, returned home, I gave Ben his chalk, then Daughter changed out of her scrubs and settled into Couch Sittin Duty, and I went for my walk early. She was tired, and I wanted to give her a chance to sleep earlier if she was able to.

I didn’t do the extra bit that I did yesterday, but I went the opposite way, so the last stretch was uphill. It’s not majorly uphill, but enough to feel it. I mostly walked at a quick, exercizing pace, rather than strolling, but I stopped to take a few pictures along the way

I had to take the picture upside down cuz of my shadow, so it’s flipped. Looks kinda weird, huh?!

and I found another feather, so YAY! Yes, I know I’m a dork. I got home after twenty-five minutes, and sent Daughter to her room. I changed into my comfy, sloppies and Couch Sittin Duty began.

Ben had gotten a second sixteen piece from me before the walk, I wanted him to be nice to Daughter while I was gone, but he was still yammering on about the “bigger box of chalk”, even showing me pictures of the forty-eight piece box on his tablet… like I didn’t know.

I ordered a “same day delivery” earlier, during the getting ready chaos, and it arrived around 10:30am. After taking his med, he threw himself on the couch, saying “Bigger. Box. Chalk.” I grabbed the “mail” and gave him one of the two boxes I’d ordered. The little Bootyhead stayed on the couch, watching his tablet. Seriously?!

A half hour later he got up to inspect the box of chalk, found it acceptable, and began doing his thang. He did his chalk thang off and on for the rest of the morning and into the afternoon. He took breaks for snacks and couch sittin, next to me. It was a chill tour of Duty.

Daughter got up and took over around 2:15pm. Ben stayed in the living room with her until around 3pm, then he joined me and Zeus in my room. He asked me for Starbursts. He always eats all the red ones then wants a new pack. We tried buying him a pack of just red ones, but he didn’t like that cuz it was different. Autism can be so frustrating at times. I got him the bowl that had three or four packs worth of orange, yellow, and pink Starbursts. He started with the Angry Words again, he wanted RED ones. I didn’t respond. I wanted to go hide in the baño or send him out of my room, but it wasn’t worth the drama. He started eating the other ones and watching something on his tablet. He moved to the foot of the bed so he could also watch himself in the mirror of the closet door.

Today’s Lurve offering for Paula is the ocean. I love the sight, sound, smell and feel of the ocean, also the cliffs, tide pools, and beach at it’s edge. Going to my favorite beach is one of my Ultimate Happy things. It chills me out, and refreshes/energizes me. I had to get the pictures from Younger, who loves it as much as I do. She kindly gave me permission to use them.

It’s getting to be about that time. Another work night for Daughter, PreGame Show and Driving Miss Daisy for me. Maybe a pretty sunset too. Like everything else, I never know what is going to happen.

Today Lurve is also the title of a song by my favorite band. How could I not?

The Ocean – Led Zeppelin

All things considered, a pretty good day. Ben is still doing a lot of scripting of Angry Words, and it gets old. It wears me down hearing the same tone and words all day. Just because I kinda understand it doesn’t mean I have to like it. Tomorrow’s agenda looks pretty much like today’s. Hopefully the same chill, and fewer Angry Words. ¡Hasta mañana!

    1. Younger is my inspiration to be a photographer. She was the one who always took all the pictures, so I’ve had to take over since she moved out. 😂 She sent me 15 pictures😲 “just a few”🤣🤣🤣
I hope your Saturday is Super!💃🏼🌠💕🤗🥰🦋🌺

  2. Venting here, but my gosh, I have had a shadow for the past 48 hours especially just talking about fidgets. I tried to stop him, hurt his feelings, so then I felt bad and apologized. I am back to listening to fidget talk or watching Frozen. Whew. Vent over.
Beautiful pictures! The sunrise was nice. I LOVE the ocean too. That is definitely my happy place. Sitting on the beach – the sights, sounds, smells – ahhhh. Love it!
Great job keeping you with your walking routine! I was able to do a little one on my treadmill. I have been getting up earlier this week so I can get some time downstairs before Bob “goes to work.” It does feel good!
I hope you guys have a great day ahead!!

    1. Feel free to vent anytime! It gets a bit much, doesn’t it? Knowing they can’t help it only goes so far, and there comes a point when I (probably you too) just want to scream “STOP DOING THAT!” But yeah, hurt feelings, or ramped up “behaviors”… a lose-lose situation.
Thanks for the encouragement on the walking!💕 I’m determined this time. I chose a good time slot. I was worried about rough nights and mornings after nights that Daughter worked, but I’ve had both… combined🙄🤦🏼‍♀️, and went earlier. It’s only been 6 days, so I haven’t noticed any changes, good or bad. I’m setting the habit though, so that’s a positive.
Countdown to GLYSB!! Come on Monday!😉😂😂🌠💃🏼✨💕

  3. The picture of the heart in the sidewalk is perfect! Just like the ocean and the sunset. What lovely things scattered through the day 💕🎶💃💕 Thank you for letting us walk with you 🥰☀️🌈
