Part 351 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.

Sunset last night was pretty mild, but I used my new phone camera to take the pictures. (The actual camera will have to wait until Ben isn’t around, or at least in a non-destructo mood.) The new phone camera has FOUR lenses! and a magnification of ten! WHOA!

Ben had been playing with the chalk that was outside. Daughter tried to call him in when his dinner was done. Then she took his meds out to him, and tried again to get him to come in. Wasn’t happening.

I went ahead and ran his bath, knowing it was going to take time to get him into it. It was almost a total repeat of the previous night, except I didn’t get hit in the face. I finally got him into the tub, and he immediately pulled the plug. I was able to get him cleaned up before all the water drained, but I hate fighting with him.

We got Daughter to work on time, and although she was stressed out about me and Ben “arguing”, I wasn’t upset any longer, and Ben’s meds were making him loopy. We said “I love you”, and I promised to text when we got home.

Which I did, right after I got The Boys (naughty Zeus got into the trash again) settled in Ben’s room. Then it was the usual Stuff and Things, catching up on email and WP, food, pill, and sleep around 11:30pm. No wakups…

… until Ben was kicking the door at 2:45am. Zeus hadn’t even done the ear sniffing… he knew it was too early to be up. I tried to get Ben to come lay down with me, but as usual, the answer was No. I was a very unhappy Gramma, but I got out of bed. I texted Daughter to let her know we were up.

I got Ben’s water bottle, tablet charger, and stuff to munch on, then settled on the couch next to him. I dozed off pretty quickly after the text conversation with Daughter… around 3:45 or 4am.

Ben let me doze until 5am-ish. I didn’t look at the time, but the Coffee Dragon was burbling and hissing, and it wakes up at 5am. I can’t even remember why Ben woke me up, I’m sure it’s because he needed something… oh, yeah! He needed me to open a soda.

I got coffee, read emails, yadda yadda yadda, and when the Sun started coming up, I went to look. Yes, yes… and photograph.

I gave Ben his meds ten minutes early cuz he was starting to get SpazmaTaz, and I wanted to stop that nonsense before it got too ramped up. We left to go get Daughter at 7:10am, picked her up, and headed back home.

She changed out of her scrubs and did Couch Sittin Duty, Ben reenacted the Willy Wonka scene, and I got ready to take my walk. I did the same two miles, and only stopped for a few pictures. Mostly, I wanted to see how the camera did with the bees on the lavender

…pretty good. I did the walk in thirty-two minutes today, and it didn’t feel like I was pushing at the end. YAY! Progress.

Ben was outside, playing with the chalk out there, when I got home. I changed into my sloppies, and told Daughter to go ahead and go to bed. I stayed in my room since Ben was outside. I took his 9:30am med, and his 10:30am med outside to him.

Around 11am he came in, stopped in my doorway and said “Gramma come living room, please.” How could I resist the “please”? I got another cuppa, put Mr Sven in the shower, and settled into Couch Sittin Duty.

Mr Judgey McJudgeypants had a pretty active day. These pictures are from when I first uncovered him around 6:30am through 2:30pm-ish. The bright, happy ones (#7 and #8) were right after his shower.

Daughter got up around 2:15pm and took over Couch Sittin Duty. I was starting to get dozey, so it’s good she came out when she did. Afternoon naps always make me logey. I got more coffee, paparazzi’d Mr Grumpy, then went to get Horizontal. I asked Ben if he was going to come to my room with me, or stay with Mom in the living room. He said “stay living room”. I didn’t bother asking Zeus.

If things are gonna get chaotic again, or if there are going to be problems, now is when it will start. PreGame Show and Driving Miss Daisy time are coming up… just as the Sun is going down. Hopefully tonight will go better.

At first I was just going to use Brain Damage, but I realized that I can’t listen to Brain Damage without Eclipse. Can you?

Brain Damage/Eclipse – Pink Floyd

Today started WAY too freakin early. I have no idea what’s going on with Ben’s sleep, but I’m not very happy about it. Other than the normal, pre-meds, morning choas, and the scripting of the Willy Wonka scene (so sick of hearing “you’re an inhuman monster), it was a pretty mellow day. Daughter has work tomorrow night too, but then she’s off for a few days. Tomorrow will hopefully be very much like today, without the ridiculous start time.

    1. He did let me doze for an hour or so.🙄😂😂 It’s kinda scary that I didn’t hear him get up though.
It was a pretty good day, and he’s been fairly chill this afternoon, so hopefully he’ll sleep💤 😴 and let me sleep!!🤞🤞
Sven is always good for a laugh! The looks he gives me… so disdainful 🤣

I hope Clan Coupe has an awesome weekend! Especially the Matriarch!😘🌻💕

    1. Thank you, Suzanne! I’m really surprised at the clarity of the photos. I guess with 4 lenses, they would be clear🤦🏼‍♀️😂
The Sun is moving faster. It’s almost Equinox… more Sciencey Stuff!👩🏼‍🔬
I hope you have fantastic sleep, and the sweetest of dreams!🤞✨🌈💃🏼🦋🌊💫🌺🌻💕🤗🥰

  3. 2:45! What a short night for you. It was kind of him to let you doze some. Perhaps, his mom should mention the sleep issues to his doctor?
The new phone camera has amazing results. The bee on lavender is such a clear photo.
Hope tonight is better than last night. Have a good day tomorrow. Lots of hugs and love 💗

    1. Thanks Sadje! She did mention the sleep problems and the doctor is SUPER conservative with the meds, so she wants to wait and watch. Always, wait and watch🤪🤦🏼‍♀️
I get that he’s a child. But he’s 12 years old, weighs over 100 pounds, he can take adult size doses of medications. At 12, he should be sleeping 8-10 hours a night. He mostly gets 6-8. It’s not good for him either. 🤷🏼‍♀️
      Have a fantastic Saturday, Sadje!🌻🌺🌈✨😘🤗🥰🦋💕

    1. Thank you for cheering me on, Gary! 🤗🥰 BIG pants to lack of sleep! 😡
Pink Floyd really IS fantastic! Dark Side Of The Moon is just an epic album too.
I was just gonna play Brain Damage… I love the lyric “the paper holds their folded faces to the floor, and every day the paper boy brings more”. When Brain Damage ended without Eclipse, it just felt so WRONG! I had to include it too.😉

  4. It’s lovely to see the bees. We have a few coming out now with signs of Spring, longer days and some sunshine. Hooray! Winter is over.

    1. Our winter is so mild in comparison to real winters, that we see bees year round. Our lowest daytime temperatures have been low 50s F (10-12 C) Spring isn’t quite here yet… the wind still has a wintery bite. It’s close though…🌻💃🏼🥳💕

  5. As you know, I’m woefully behind with all my correspondence duties, but I’m finally at a point where I can start catching up. I have to say that your fancy new phone camera is working wonders. Your photos were already quite lovely, but now everything is so CRISP! Sometimes modern technology can be really enjoyable. Partner and I upgraded our phones this weekend to the latest Samsung, and I accidentally took a picture whilst fiddling, and the photo was stunningly clear, even thought it was random. Now I just need to focus on things like composition and framing, arts that you have already mastered.

I hope things settle down with KB and his recent discombobulation. (I just had to throw that word in there, after your recent comment on my own blog.) Every day is a test, and it’s annoying how often the right answers change. But we get through it…

    1. Every day certainly IS a test… in a language I don’t understand 🤦🏼‍♀️ I just keep smiling and nodding and hoping I get extra points for effort 😉
Mr Bootyhead is goofing off in his room as I type this at midnight-thirty … he hasn’t gone to sleep yet🙄 The only thing keeping me from discombobbing his ulate is that in seven hours he’ll be school-bound on the GLYSB💃🏼🎉 (can I get a Hallelujah?)

Never worry about tardiness… we don’t take attendance at Casa Cuckoo. Makes providing alibis for our visitors much easier 😉

  6. Holy smokes! He was still awake at 12:30? Something is def off with his meds.
How in the world will he make a day at school after little sleep? Well that’s not your problem. Thank goodness.

    New phone. How fun!

Have you heard of Clubhouse? It’s a new app. Curtis introduced me to it. There are many topics and chat rooms of all kinds. I’m following a few moderators who speak about Autism. I also learn about herbs, social media tricks, etc.

Would you like to learn more about it? It’s invite only, but i have an extra person I can invite. At some point you and I could host a club/room and help others who are in your shoes. Just a thought.
I might need your email or cell to invite you. You could msg me on Instagram or Twitter if interested.
    I like it
