If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Daughter got up from her nap around 4:45pm and took over Couch Sittin Duty. Ben’s orange chicken was done a few minutes later, and she gave it to him. I went and got Horizontal until sunset time.
Ben ate all of his chicken, then played with chalk outside. Sunset looked like it was going to be a bust again, but then it surprised me.
Meds were given later, and Ben had trouble stopping the chalk creation he was working on. I ran his bath, then spent the next fifteen minutes trying to get him into it. Everything after that was fine. He was tired and went to sleep pretty quickly after The Boys were settled.
Daughter went to her room, and went to sleep around 10pm. I did my usual, and the OFF switch was hit around 11:30pm. I woke around 3:30am and saw that I hadn’t taken my pill, or finished the comment I’d been typing. I get zero warning when the switch flips like that. One second I’m fully awake and doing something, then I’m waking up, minutes or hours later.
I was awake from 3:30am-ish until after 5am, then dozed until 6am when the alarm told me to get up, even though I was totally feeling the dysania today. I heard Zeus sniffing at the baño door, so I knew either Ben or Daughter had gotten up. I exited, said Good Morning to Daughter, then the whining, wiggly one, and headed outside.
I took a couple pictures then went back in to get coffee. I went back outside a little while later, and was getting ready to take a picture, when suddenly I had a visitor…
… Well, hello Georgie! The truck he was on top of was parked at my gate, so he was maybe ten feet from me. Shooting pictures of objects with the Sun behind them is something I’m still trying to master. It was a fun treat for me to have him so close and asking me for breakfast, or possibly cursing me out… my “Gullish” isn’t great.
After a minute or two, when no food was offered, Georgie flew up to Gracie, then they both went elsewhere. I went back inside to help get Ben ready for the GLYSB. I didn’t actually go outside with Daughter and Ben this morning, but did my Happy Dance at 7:26am PST when I got the notification that he’d been scanned onto the bus.
Coffee and email until my the alarm reminded me that it was time for my walk. Today was the first day I really wasn’t feeling it. I thought about skipping it for about five seconds, and made myself get ready. I walked in the opposite direction today, thinking that might get me into a better mental state. Nope! I kept going anyway, even after almost tripping and falling on uneven pavement. I did the two miles in thirty-one minutes and was glad I’d done it. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow, so I may postpone or skip tomorrow morning. We’ll see.
I settled into some serious Horizontal Time, just me and my phone… and Zeus, of course. I was able to clear out some email, reply to a text message from my mother, and go through my WP Reader. It was a lot more relaxing than yesterday.
I checked in with Sven every time I was in the front room, mostly he didn’t move. Around 1pm I took him outside for some sunshine, and a look around. It was chilly to me, so we didn’t stay out there very long.
I brought him back in, and put him in the shower for a while. He was totally blissed out until I started scrubbing on him with the toothbrush. After his shower, and a few minutes of cuddles, I put him back in his terrarium. He ran around a bit, then climbed up on his hammock, giving me Looks.
Ben was scanned onto the bus home at 1:30pm. That’s more like it. School ends at 1:30pm, and we want as much time as we can get. He arrived home at 1:49pm and went directly outside to the chalk that was out there. Daughter settled into Couch Sittin Duty, and I continued my Horizontal Time.
Daughter made white chicken for Ben around 3:30pm. He seems to be the most hungry and ready to eat in the afternoon, so we’re trying to adjust the schedules to better suit him. We will be moving his bath to after Driving Miss Daisy, especially since it’s going to be light later. It will also remove the stress of having him bathed before we have to leave. Anyway, he stopped doing the chalk thang, got on the bed with me, watched his tablet and nom nom’d his chicken.
The clouds are rolling in from the coast, but the sky can be surprising… Sunset could be a bust, or brilliant… or both.. Hopefully the mellow vibe will continue on this slothful Tuesday.
Courtesy of the DJ in my head… a random song. Did you know that Lisztomania was a real thing?
No more GLYSB until next Monday. Quel dommage! Daughter starts her three nights of work tomorrow, so there will be laundry. It’s also supposed to rain tomorrow according to the Guessers. I’m glad I was slothful today, since tomorrow looks kinda busy. We’re almost at the end of the daily Adventures. I’m taking the series to three sixty-five. After that… who knows?! The Equinox is coming up too. It might be the same day, I’d have to math. Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes are coming…

I love this song! Although I didn’t know it was a real thing. I just really liked the rhythm and the beat!
I didn’t feel like doing my time today either. I went way slower but did my 30 minutes. Great job sticking with it!
Always good to see Sven. Especially when he is a chill yellow. Happy dragon!
Hope the rest of your evening goes well and you have a great day tomorrow!!

I’m glad I kicked my own butt, and made myself go today. I’m not at the point where I’m willing to do it in a downpour like I was many years ago, when I had to get my endorphin fix😉
Poor Sven isn’t liking the cool weather. It makes him slow… I feel the same way😂
I hope you have a fantastic Wednesday too! No Frozen😘🤣🤣🌻💕

Awww… I’m not canceling it completely, but I’m wanting to take occasional days off from writing, maybe resurrect my “Turbulent Teens” series, of write more about Chronic Pain, Domestic Violence, Disability… maybe some prompts.🤷🏼♀️
I’ll keep Adventures, just not every day.

I’ve learned so much about bearded dragons from you and Sven. He really does look happy 😊. It’s sort of contagious, in a good way. Lisztomania – that’s very cool, like the Beatles. 🎶☺️ hugs and sweet dreams 😴✨🤗💕

Sven always makes me smile! Whenever I’m handling him, I always have to kiss his pointed little “nose”, and he closes his eyes like he loves it. 💘 It’s cute, and endearing. Who would’ve thought a lizard could be so cute?!😍
I hope you had a peaceful night and beautiful dreams!🤞🌈✨💃🏼🌙🦋💕🌻

I’m glad you went for your walk. I think the broken sleep may be the cause of you not feeling like going for a as walk. I hope that tonight you get better sleep. I take all my night meds with my meal. Maybe that can help you remember to take your pills. Lots of hugs and love. Have a relaxing day!

I usually take my sleeping pill after I eat, but I don’t want to take it immediately after I finish. I want some digestion time before I konk out.
It used to be I had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. Since last March, I’m so exhausted that falling asleep isn’t a problem anymore, but staying asleep still is🤷🏼♀️
I think my sleep schedule has so many variables that are beyond my control, that I just have to do the best I can and hope it will eventually get better 🤞🥱

That makes sense! I hope that things improve sleep-wise for you as when we are well rested, we can handle stress much better. Sweet dreams.

Glad you had a nice day Angie.
I had to drive Scooby my rooster to a farm in Auburn today.
I cried like a baby. I will miss him.
He gets to live in a few acres, with goats, geese, chickens, a rooster, sheep 🐑 and a German shepard puppy. They even have a pond. I hope it works out for him. The family had 3 small children 3,5, and 8 and they were feeding him blueberries 🫐 by hand. He should get plenty of attention.
Then i came home and checked on my girls. The rest of the chickens were standing at the gate waiting for me and wondered where their brother was.
One kept looking around for Scooby before going into the coop. Go figure.
I’m exhausted. It was a 2 hour drive up north and 2 hrs back home. I’m grateful our guy has a beautiful place to live and there should be happier neighbors.
Glad your bird came to see you too.
They are wonderful healers and bring me joy

I’m sorry you had to lose him, Teri!☹ It sounds like he has a wonderful new home though, and will be loved 😍
We’ve both reconnected with Nature in our own ways through this pandemic. I can tell that it’s made you happy, just like it has for me. Nature really IS comforting and healing.🌻🦋🌺🌠🌈🌙🐓🕊💕

Georgie sighting! Hurray!
I’ve seen the 1975 movie “Lisztomania”, but I don’t thing I realized (or have since forgotten) that it was inspired by a real thing. I thought it was based on a really good supply of drugs that year, as it’s a rather whacked-out flick… 😉

I’m trying to imagine women fainting and freaking out over a pianist (behave😉) back then. Maybe their laces were just too tight.
A whacked out movie sounds very 70s… that was an awful decade. 🙄😂😂

On the flip side, I remember going to see Barry Manilow in my senior year in high school, along with about 10 females and 1 other guy. (We were all discussing the upcoming concert one day in Yearbook class, and we decided to make it a group venture, supposedly as a birthday party for me, but I suspect that Barry was the true goal.) Those 10 normally well-behaved Oklahoma gals? When Barry was singing his love songs whilst playing the piano? They were all screaming and reaching their hands out to him in apparent rapture. It was a surreal, lovely experience.
So I guess I DO understand Lisztomania. I also understood (even then) that Barry played on MY team, not theirs. (I have finely-tuned gaydar.) Still lovely, though, a moment frozen in my memory…

Well… he did write the songs that made the young girls cry… just not that one😂😂
That must’ve been a hoot to see you classmates losing it like that. It’s always fun when people unexpectedly get a little wild😂
My gaydar is 98% accurate. It’s seems to be something one either has, or doesn’t. 😉

Oh wow! What you described for sleep – how sudden it can be and what that can feel like – is exactly what happens to me! Lol 😂. Mine is irregular and broken, and it’s like flipping a switch—I’m awake and animated one moment, snoring the next, waking up 3-5 hours later, surprised I fell asleep, because I don’t even remember getting tired lol 😱😂. High-fives to you! 😍💖🙈🌸🌙☀️🕉💓💌🔮😴🌠

Does it irritate you as much as it does me? I do need sleep, but I’d like to finish the sentence I’m typing before the plug gets pulled and I’m konked out🙄🤦🏼♀️💕
