If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Right around 5pm Ben went into destructor mode again. He was back at the dag-nabbit wall, busting chunks of the stucco out. We’ve tried giving him alternatives if he feels like he has to bust something up, we’ve tried explaining why it’s not okay, we’ve tried everything we can think of… he knows he’s not supposed to do it.
I had to stand there for a while, and he tested me a few times, but he eventually moved away from the wall. I started taking pictures of sunset
The “Crackerjack” Hour was over. (“Crackerjack” is how I refer to the extremely energetic, destructo, defiant behavior Ben exhibits) It seems to happen around sunset, like Sundowning. I will be watching to see if it follows the time of sunset or the time of the clock. Anyway, bath time was fine, followed by bed.
Daughter went to bed right after The Boys were settled and was asleep before 8pm. I was doing all the usual, when Ben got up around 8:45pm for a baño run. When he was done, I got him settled back in bed. Dogzilla stayed in Ben’s room, he knew it wasn’t time to get up yet.
I continued with the Stuff and Things, ate my food, took my pill, and konked around 11pm or 11:30pm. I woke at 3am, but drifted back off until 5am when I woke for the day. I answered Nature’s call, then got back under my blankets. Daughter got up at 6am and let Dogzilla out of Ben’s room.
She went back to her room, and about ten minutes later, HRH came running into my room, got under the blankets with me for a “cuddle”, and said “No bus today.” I told him he was correct. (Unfortunately) He “cuddled” for like two minutes, which is a long time for Ben. During that time he sneezed on me twice, and let loose with the “rumble booty” three times. When he said “Gramma come living room” I was ready to go.
I opened the side door for Zeus, but Mr Velcro didn’t want to go out without me, so I went out and took a few pictures of the morning sky
and Zeus lifted a leg. We went back inside, and met Ben coming out of the baño. I got Ben’s tablet and water bottle, gave him his meds, gave Zeus a scoop of kibble, and uncovered Mr Grumpy.
Daughter was watching her shows in her room. She came out to say her laptop hadn’t charged overnight, so she’d be out to take over Couch Sittin Duty when it was charged up. NBD.
Ben requested a big box of chalk, and since I’d Pinky Promised last night to give him one this morning, I got the jumbo box of seventy-two piece I had. He was still on the couch and was too cold to do the chalk thang, but was happy to have the chalk available. I settled into Couch Sittin Duty.
Daughter put her clothes in the washer when she told me about the laptop, so when she took over Couch Sittin Duty around 7:45am, I took a load of my and Ben’s stuff out, and put it in, after taking hers out. While I was outside, I noticed the Sun peeking through and figured if I was gonna walk, I’d better do it.
I changed out of my jammas and headed out. I did the regular two miles that I’ve been doing for the past week. It took thirty-two minutes today because I stopped a couple times for pictures.
I got home and switched the laundry, then put on my House Hoodie, and slippers. At 11:30am I took the three loads of clothes over to the laundromat. The office was closed, so no Quarter Lady or Cleaner Lady. I put the stuff in MY dryers, and headed back home. After forty-five minutes of Horizontal Time, I went back to get the clothes. The office was still closed, no Ladys. I brought the clothes home, folded and put my and Ben’s away, then collapsed on my bed. I was tuckered out, and I really don’t like laundry.
Daughter decided she wanted fettuccine Alfredo, so she made an Alfredo sauce, and some chicken tenders breaded in French’s onions. She cooked up some steak for Ben too. I’m not big on fettuccine, linguini, spaghetti, etc. so I’ll cook some rotinni, gemelli or mini penne later, to go with her sauce, when I’m ready to eat.
It’s been raining off and on all day, and it’s supposed to continue through tomorrow… BOO! I don’t mind the off and on rain so much, especially when there are RAINBOWS!
After Daughter ate her food she Food Coma‘d on the couch… snoring and everything. She has work tonight, and Ben already had his “big” meal, so I just let her be. Ben was doing his chalk thang, and everything was groovy.
Will there be a visible sunset? Will Ben flip into Crackerjack mode? Will I ever get eight hours of sleep? Will Sven find the worms living in his dish? Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care? (Had to…)
I heard this on the radio, plus it came up in my YouTube feed… had to play it.
Some fairly decent sleep and a busy morning. It was a pretty good day… rainy and cold, but a good vibe. Daughter has work tonight, also Thursday and Friday nights, so I’ll be Driving Miss Daisy and doing Couch Sittin Duty. Woo hoo! Big excitement at the Casa!
