Part 357 ~ The Adventures of King Ben & Zeus the Big Dumb Dog

After eating her Fettuccine Alfredo, Daughter konked into a Food Coma sometime between 3:30pm and 4pm. I just let her snore away. Ben played with his chalk or outside around the new water hole.

I took pictures of sunset, then ran Ben’s bath around 5:30pm.

Daughter started waking up around 5:45pm, after I got Ben in the tub. Ben did really well, got out without hassle and played with some of his cars while Daughter got ready for work.

We got her to work without trouble, it even stopped raining. Younger stopped by to pick up mail on her way home, but we missed her. She’d worked a twelve hour shift on her sixth day, and she wanted to get home. Anyway, we got home, The Boys were settled in Ben’s room, and Daughter was texted that we’d arrived

Stuff and Things… yadda yadda yadda… I decided on mini penne to go with the Alfredo sauce and French’s onion chicken Daughter made. I made too much pasta, but it was still nom nom nommy! I took my pill, set up the Coffee Dragon, then got under my blankets and konked sometime after 11:15pm.

And woke at 1am, and woke at 3am, and woke at 5am, and got up at 6am. I was in the baño when Ben got up… Zeus madly sniffing under the door was my clue. I said Good Morning to Ben, and exited. I opened the side door for Zeus but he didn’t want to go out. It was raining, but not pouring… big baby.

It stopped raining just before we had to leave to get Daughter, and Zeus was very much willing to go out at that point. Daughter had a good shift. She said it was steady, but not overwhelming. It was nice to see her in a good mood after work. We got home, and we’re greeted by the usual wiggling and whining… poor Dogzilla had been all alone (except for Diesel Cat, and Sven) for twenty whole minutes.

Ben ran outside to play with the water hole, Daughter went to change out of her scrubs, and I got ready to walk. It was spitting, but the Sun was peeking so I figured I’d better get my walk in before the rain came back.

Thirty-five minutes later I was home, and changing into my sloppies. I took over Couch Sittin Duty after getting chalk for HRH, and Daughter went to go sleep.

Couch Sittin Duty went as it usually goes… med alarms, chalk, snack breaks and lots of echolalia. I went through my Reader, email, and tried to stay awake. I also tried to stay warm. The rain stopped but it was cold! 54°F (13°C) is too cold for SoCal in March. I’d still rather be cold than hot, but again… can’t we have something in the middle? Does even the weather have to be one extreme or the other?

Daughter took over Couch Sittin Duty around 2:15pm. I got another cuppa and went to my room for Horizontal Time… and dozed against my will. I hate when that happens.

At 4:15pm Ben came in the house with mud on his face. He ran to the bathroom to look at himself, then ran to his room to strip off his clothes, then back out to the mud hole. UGH!! It’s gross! And how can he stand being so cold??

A pretty calm day…except the mud part. More Driving Miss Daisy tonight and tomorrow, and more Couch Sittin tomorrow too. Hopefully the Guessers are wrong, and the rain is over. It’s supposed to be cold and blustery again tomorrow, so I’ll be whining. Ben will probably want chalk, and may coat himself in mud again too. It’s Casa Cuckoo… anything could happen.
