If you missed the start of this series, you can find it here. A lot of things will be the same or very similar.
Ben brought his naked, mud covered self back inside, and Daughter ushered him straight to the shower. She got most of it, but Mr Bootyhead is extremely uncooperative in the shower. She got him into clean clothes, then he ran back outside. Seriously?!
He didn’t completely coat himself that time, just splattered it all over his clothes and face. I decided to leave it, and give him a bath after Driving Miss Daisy. I took some sunset pictures, but the wind was c-c-cold, so I stopped after the Sun was below the western hills.
Ben ate his pizza, and watched his tablet until it was time to take Daughter to work. Once we were in the car he started with the whole “play Megamind I’m Bad on radio, please” thing. Ever since the song played on the radio one night, he’s been buggin about it. I connected my Bluetooth, opened YouTube (at a stop sign, NOT while driving), then handed the phone to Daughter. Ben quit buggin.
Daughter was unhappy when we got to the hospital, so I asked her why. She was upset that I “multi-tasked” while driving. She really gets freaked out about everything while in the car. I apologized for freaking her out. She went on to the building, then Ben and I headed home… listening to the stupid song over and over.
When we got in the house, I ran a bath for Ben, and texted Daughter to let her know we were home. Surprisingly, Ben didn’t give me any trouble about the bath. Zeus was confused about why Ben didn’t come straight to bed… he was waiting in Ben’s room. I told him what a Good Dawg he was.
I got most of the mud off Ben, but there was still some in his hair. I knew he’d be back at the mud again, so skipped the hair washing. I decided to save wrassling the octopus until the mudhole was dried up more. He played for ten or fifteen minutes, then got out. I got him into clean jammas and herded him to bed. We’re wanting to push his bedtime to later anyway, especially with DST getting ready to start soon.
Stuff and Things followed, then food, pill, texting with Daughter, then sleep around 11pm. I had a couple wakeups, but they were brief. The final wakeup was around 5am. Six hours is pretty good for me. I enjoyed the peace until 6am, then let Zeus out of Ben’s room, and went out to look at the sky.
Ben stayed in bed until almost time to leave to get Daughter. We had to listen to Bad all the way there, while we waited for Daughter to come out, and all the way home. I’m already greatly disliking that song, I anticipate dislike turning to hate if this continues.
Ben went directly to the backyard as soon as we got home. Daughter changed and got her stuff for Couch Sittin Duty, and I got ready for my walk. I did the same two miles, with a couple stops for pictures, in thirty-three minutes. Daughter told me she’d ordered a delivery from a taco shop, so she was gonna stay in the living room. Perfectly okay with me.
I changed back into my jammas and got Horizontal. I went through my email, read some “news”, and relaxed. Daughter ate her food, and was getting ready to go to her room when I hollered out the 10:30am med alarm.
I got up to get more coffee, and figured since I was up, I’d take the med to Ben. I found him sitting on the AC shelf outside Daughter’s window (about five feet above the ground), with purple chalk drying on his face. OY! I helped him get down, then gave him his pill. We went into the house, and I cleaned his face. Daughter went to go sleep, and I took over Couch Sittin Duty.
Ben and I did what we usually do when I’m on Couch Sittin Duty. He did his chalk thang, and I read posts or emails or articles. He took snack breaks, I took coffee breaks, we scripted together… the usual stuff. Daughter got up a little after 3pm to take over. I figured she’d sleep later since she was up later. I got more coffee then got Horizontal.
Ben stayed with Daughter for a while, then came to hang out in my room for a while. Then around 4:15pm he ran outside. A few minutes later I heard the sound of a brick hitting something. My first thought was the dang stucco wall. I got up to go stop him, but he wasn’t at the wall. He was sitting in the dirt/chalk/mud/water hole, banging away at the concrete walkway. Not ideal, but an acceptable alternative. I told him “That’s okay.” and went back inside. Hopefully he stays in the “acceptable alternative” areas.
Remember when MTV played videos? Remember this song?
Tonight is the last night of Daughter’s three-day stretch, then she’s off until Wednesday. Tomorrow will probably be a lot like today. Lots of Couch Sittin and chalk. The Guessers say it’s going to start warming up a little too (yes, I know I’m whiney and spoiled). That would be nice. I’m ready for Spring… ready for some changes. I think we all are.

Six hours is pretty good, considering last few nights. Iโm glad youโre getting your walks in daily. Maybe thatโs helping with sleep a bit. I think Ben is going Native American mode with the mud and the chalk. My young granddaughter has come to like Moana so much that she asks for it every time she comes over. I think I remember all the songs and the dialogue now. I hope she grows out of it. Otherwise Iโll also start hating it.
Hope itโs a good night, tonight. Lots of hugs and love.

Too much of anything gets annoying. Even a fun movie or a good song. Ben did well tonight. Hopefully he sleeps well so I can try for 6.5 or even 7 hours๐ฒ๐๐
I hope you have a super Saturday!๐ค๐ค๐ฅฐโค๐ป๐ฆ๐

MTV was always on. We only listened to the radio in our rooms when the parents were home, or in the car… always MTV!๐๐ผ๐ถ๐

Storms were triggers for me. Whenever the pressure dropped. It was always busier at work too… I worked for AAA road service in the dispatch office ๐คช, and all the noise… I can’t imagine trying to deal with Ben with a M๐ฑ๐ฑ
I like the pretty sky, but I’m tired of being cold ๐ฅถ๐ง not that I want July weather. ๐ค๐ค๐ค Yep! Happy weekending ๐๐ฅณ๐๐ผ๐
