I was going to do a FriedDay review yesterday, but I was like “Meh…”, so I skipped it. Part of the point of stopping the Adventures series was not feeling locked in to posting on specific days, about specific things. Plus, there wasn’t anything really to write about.
I could’ve blabbered on for paragraphs about the crazy stuff that happens at Casa Cuckoo, but it was the usual crazy stuff. Borrrrrring! One example is Ben took a toy gun to school one day. How he snuck it past us is still a mystery. His teacher took it away, and we told her to throw it away. Ben most definitely knows better. We’ve had that fight many, many times. Now he gets frisked before school.
I could’ve blabbered about him getting his first shot of Pfizer vax on MooooNDay afternoon. Blah blah blah… I think our collective excitement about the shots is over too. Especially since it’s unfairly distributed and too many people who want it, can’t get it. Then there are people who still won’t get it because Conspiracy Theories.
Aren’t you glad I didn’t write about all that stuff? Oh wait… Hey! Look at this…
Sunset was gorgeous last night! It’s been a while since the sunset was that pretty! I even got a good picture of the Moon before the clouds rolled in.
Of course, since it’s MY life we’re talking about, I didn’t get to just Ooooh and Ahhhh while taking pictures. I had done the Driving Miss Daisy thing, and was trying to get HRH into the bathtub. But wait… that’s not all… I was also dealing with an increasingly frustrated, increasingly snippy Younger Daughter via text and call.
Why was Younger frustrated and snippy, you wonder? Because our car insurance company doesn’t have live people (or dead people, I’m assuming) available after “regular business hours”. Why did this subject become a Thing? Because she was buying a car, of course.

She wound up having to go with a different insurance company, just so she could get the dang car off the dang lot. We can add her car to the policy and cancel the other one on MooooNDay or whenever, but SHEESH! What a PITA! Oh, it’s a 2015 Chevy Spark. She sent me this picture, I’m not sure who actually took the picture.
So that’s the Sunset, and the Spark… all that’s left is Sven. I guess I better add some pictures of his goofiness.
Oh, and one other thing, before I forget. I took my first dose of Methotrexate, a medication developed for cancer, for my Plaque Psoriasis last SaturnDay, and it kinda wiped me out. I take five pills at once, one day a week. I’ve decided that SaturnDay is the wrong day to take it cuz Daughter works and I have Couch Sittin Duty. I’m going to start taking it on MooooNDay mid-day. That will work best with my schedule. I’m already seeing some improvement… VERY exciting!

By Casa Cuckoo standards, except for the toy gun, and everything all at once last night, it was pretty dull😂😂
I thought everyone’s life was crazy like mine. It surprises me still that most people don’t deal with ANY of these things🤣🤣🤣

I’ve been on methotrexate for more than 15 years. It helps with auto-immune diseases. I take 10 mg on Sunday. Hope it helps with your psoriasis. Hugs.

I’m taking 12.5 mg. Yes, psoriasis is auto-immune, and some people think fibromyalgia is too🤷🏼♀️

Once, Eli took a knife to school (a real one) and showed it to a girl on the bus. She, of course, told the bus driver, and Eli got suspended (actually the principal said she was doing us a favor and not expelling him like she was supposed to). I’m surprised Ben got off so lightly. Those people really fly off the handle about weapons. Real, fake or otherwise.

I think the only reason it wasn’t a bigger deal was because it’s an autism school. All of the students are at the support level where they can’t be helped at regular public schools.
I’m not even sure which of his guns he took. It might have even been a bubble gun🤷🏼♀️
I hope he learned from this that we mean it when we tell him he can’t take guns to school. There are so many cause-effect things he just doesn’t get though, so who knows.

Glad your daughter got a car. She looks thrilled.
Curtis always loved guns, but i never caught him bringing a toy one to school. I hid it in my closet on the highest shelf. It’s probably still there. I also had to hide a hat that he and his friends all got together so they could be in a “gang.” The principal told him to never wear it again. In the closet it went. I couldn’t trust that he would follow directions.
Then I hid a huge glass framed photo of a few rappers wearing gold chains, cause Curtis wanted to take it with him to college and hang on his wall. It magically disappeared. Too big for the closet. In fact, we just took down the shed where it was hidden behind. There were many shards of glass near where it was stashed. He of course wanted to know where it was, but we denied hiding it from him.

Happy Saturday evening.
Just finished home made caramel popcorn and now we will watch a movie.

Making things disappear around here causes meltdowns. We can occasionally thin out, but getting rid of all his guns wouldn’t be worth it. He only wants to play with them occasionally. We try for the “out of sight, out of mind” tactic with stuff we don’t like😉

Your car story reminds me why I still choose State Farm after all these years even though they’re a bit higher… my agent would have been on the new car sitch, getting it insured, the minute I asked him.

When the Prius got smashed, they were really fast and helpful. I may switch to a different company. 🤷🏼♀️ I’m not very happy with how they handled Younger’s accident, and this latest snag increases my displeasure.😡 Car stuff is so stressful. We rely on them so much☹

Psoriasis is pretty much accepted to be; fibromyalgia is suspected to arise from several different processes (alone or in combo), and yep, autoimmune is one of them 💞💞. I’m excited about the Methotrexate cuz the psoriasis has been out of control for a couple years now. It gets ridiculously itchy and painful at times. Having is reduced or gone would be miraculous! I’m also geeking out on the Sciencey Stuff aspect of observing the changes🤓 I was/am surprised at the difference after just one dose.
The only drawback is the toll it takes on the immune system. Good thing I’m vaxed and a hermit😉😂😂

SOOO many times I glance at him on my way past and he’s doing something goofy, like laying across his food dish. Why? and why does he stand with one “hand” in it all the time? He’s always good for a giggle! 🦎😂
I’m super stoked to see improvement already with the psoriasis. I haven’t written about it a lot, but it has been really flared and causing pain, and crazy-making itchiness. Plus there’s the fun of leaving flakes of skin everywhere🤦🏼♀️ The Sciencey Stuff geek in me is excited about observing the changes too🤓😆
I’m very glad that Younger has a reliable (knock on wood) car now. She’s seriously stressing about money though. She’s already paying more in rent since she split with ex-partner (rent in SoCal is beyond ridiculous), now she has a car payment too. I’ll probably be buying her groceries for a while🤷🏼♀️ I’m happy to see her away from a bad living situation and in a newer car.🥳💃🏼🌻🦋💕

I can resolve the question of who took the photo of Beaming Younger and her New Ride. It was me. She texted me that she didn’t feel the staff photographer at the dealership was quite up to her standards. Could I help? Of course. Within seconds I was leaving on a jet plane. It was a lovely session and “Vogue” has since been begging me to share a photo story in their next edition. Such is my busy life.
Let’s not dwell on the fact that I didn’t stop by Casa Cuckoo for dinner whilst I was in Cali. Younger was happy, at least for the moment, and that’s what we both want, yes? I did it for you, mi amiga… 😉

Busy times are the norm for you, good news that the meds can hopefully make for a vast improvement. Is the PP also triggered by stress and will the new meds take that into account?

Its very much triggered by stress! It’s actually one of the biggest triggers. The medication, Methotrexate only deals with the production of the skin cells. Stops, or slows down the production. I doubt it will do anything for my stress. I think it’s something that I will need to continue to take, even if I’m not having flare ups, since psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder. My skin cells will grow too fast, stress or no stress.
I’ve asked the doctors for Valium or something similar, to chill me out when things are beyond beyond, but those meds are “habit forming” and not good in conjunction with opiate pain meds, and yadda yadda yadda 🙄
I’m too much of a lightweight with cannabis to trust that I can function properly if there’s an emergency with Ben, so I can’t use it when I really need it.🤷🏼♀️ Cannabis is definitely great for chilling out though. Completely legal in California.

It always makes me smile to hear about someone’s crazy life – because our house is filled with crazy too, and now I know we’re not alone! I often wonder what the heck people think during the summer when the windows are open — random phrases like “you MUST have clothes on when you come downstairs!” or “No, that does NOT belong in your nose!” or countless other things we seem to say (more often then one would think is necessary).

Yes!!😂😂 Tuesday night I was trying to get Ben into the bath and he ran outside in just a button down shirt, nothing else… to sweep🤦🏼♀️ Luckily it was our backyard, but still. He’s almost 13 and puberty is happening to his body whether we like it or not. 🤪
It is nice to know these are perfectly normal autism house “things”.
Honestly, with my family, I’m not sure that autism is even a factor. My girls did some strange things.
Like the older coloring the younger blue with sidewalk chalk… head to toe.🙄🤦🏼♀️ When I asked why, her answer was “She wanted to be a Smurf”🤦🏼♀️
Useless Fact… blue sidewalk chalk will stain white blond hair.🤪
