Let’s start with Methotrexate. My body is still adjusting to the side effects of this medication. I take it on Sunday afternoon, knowing that I can be “down” on Monday. Ben usually has school, and Daughter is off work. If you notice I’m not around much on Mondays it’s cuz I can’t stay awake. (It’s possible this is a side effect of the weekend with Ben, and Daughter working and not the Methotrexate.)
Sunday night, and I’ve taken my sleeping pill and I’m getting ready for sleep. I went to get more water from the kitchen and had a thought that ice cream sounded nom nom. I grabbed a spoon, grabbed the ice cream and got a spoonful. (my ice cream, I can eat straight from the carton if I want to) That spoonful was very good, so I had another.
I stood in the kitchen eating ice cream for a couple minutes. It was softening up and getting easier to eat. Perfect! The next thing I know the ice cream is ALL melty, and all over the counter cuz the carton is on it’s side. Yep! That OFF switch I’ve mentioned before got hit while I was Standing and eating ice cream. I must’ve stood there sleeping for at least five minutes, probably closer to ten… maybe longer. I cleaned up the mess, wiped it off my phone, got my water and went to bed.
It’s two days later and I still can’t believe I konked out standing up! I seriously believe this could only happen to me. Never a dull moment.
I did spend most of Monday in bed, dozing in and out, and generally not feeling great. Monday afternoon was a little better, especially after the AC went off and the house was opened up. It was nice to see clouds and feel the breeze.
At sunset time I took pictures, cuz that’s what I do. I am SO glad Daughter was off and I was able to watch the sky, cuz Nature put on a spectacular display.
Do you see Venus shining over the power lines in the last picture? Of course I took tons more pictures, but I’m trying to keep this brief, cuz I woke up feeling not great today, but I had to share the story, hoping it might give you a giggle.
.
HUGS!

Have you ever fallen asleep standing up before? I had something similar happen a few months back. The neurologist agreed it was probably a seizure. Once in college, I left my dorm room to run to the bathroom. I came right back. My roommate swore I was away for fifteen minutes. Did I just stand at the urinal spacing out for all that time?

I remember you wrote about that. I’ve never fallen asleep standing up, or had seizure activity before.
I’m never lost time either… not that I’m aware of anyway.
I’m used to randomly falling asleep if I’m not moving around, but never standing up before now.
It’s the standing up part that surprises me more than the sleeping part. I randomly fall down, or bump into stuff when I’m awake, I can’t believe I didn’t fall over.😲

Oh my goodness! The stand sleep is one I don’t think I have ever done before. Is this the med that is supposed to help with your psoriasis? How is it working? I hope well although that is one konker outer if it is!
Beautiful pictures too! So pretty!

Yeah, the Methotrexate is for the plaque psoriasis and it is Amazing! I should dig up before pictures and do a comparison. No more scales!🥳
It was developed as a cancer med, so it packs a punch. Mostly it makes me feel lethargic and heavy, like I’m weighted down. Thankfully it usually only lasts about 36 hours. SOOO worth it!
The sleeping thing I understand. I had just taken my sleeping pill, but it usually takes 20-30 minutes to kick in. It’s the standing up part that really surprised me. I fall over so often when I’m awake, I’m surprised I could sleep standing up. Ruined my ice cream too☹

What a strange experience, sleeping while standing! It could be a combination of the meds and your general lack of restful sleep. These pictures are amazing. Thanks for sharing. Take care, lots of hugs. 🤗🤗🤗

Lack of restful sleep is definitely a problem!☹
I’m so good at falling over, I’m amazed I stood upright in my sleep🤪😂

I’ve had the OFF switch go while I was sitting on the “throne” and I thought that was bad… Standing and eating ice cream was a new one 🤦🏼♀️
“And for my next trick…”🤪😂😂😂

I love Venus on the line! How sweet to think of Venus powering the whole world! 🥰. My favorite way to eat ice cream is right out of the carton 🙃 but I confess I’ve never fallen asleep doing it. Thanks for the giggle 😅. Happy ice cream eating sunset watching July! ✨💫✨

Ice cream out of the carton is best!😘 Fewer dishes to wash too😂
It would be nice if Venus could send some love along those lines and reach a few more folks! Too much hate in the world ☹
I hope you have a fantastic July too! 🎉 Where has this year gone?🤪💕🦋💃🏼🌈🐾🌻🐝

Standing up, eating ice-cream and falling asleep at the same time is a wonderful way to make your way through the day. Last week, I was trying to fal asleep whilst driving but I had no ice-cream. There was an ice-cream van following me so I thought I was saved. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a police car.
I’m doing a Trump here.

I’m looking forward to reading the completed books.
I wish I could figure out why my comments aren’t showing on your posts. I DO leave comments. All I can figure is that they’re flagged a spam.
My condolences. Even when it’s expected, it’s still not easy. Take care of yourself!

I’ve ‘passed out’ three times in my life. I have no recollection of doing it, and was disoriented and weirded out when I woke up again. The first time was when I was about 5 years old and was riding my bike around our block. People watching said I drove straight into the back of a parked car and just lay in the road not moving. I woke up at home with no idea what happened nor recollection of even going for a bike ride at all. The second time was in the hospital after my 2nd hip surgery (and I can attribute that one mostly to the allergic reaction I get from general anesthesia, but it was freaky all the same. I remember the nurse yelling at me, and calling “Code Blue!!”, but I came around. I had puked all over myself (TMI, yep. Sorry). The third time was here in the bathroom. I was sick (physically), and remember going in the bathroom and waking up sitting on the john with puke everywhere and no recollection of being sick or even going in there. My doctor said it was probably a vasovagal syncope response. ( https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/vasovagal-syncope/symptoms-causes/ )
I did find your ice cream story funny – ha ha, not FUNNY as in strange. Syncope might be an explanation for your symptoms too. Scary how our bodies can turn on us like that.

Mine was probably due to the Restoril I had taken minutes before going to the kitchen. It has never “kicked in” that fast before, and never while I was standing.
I did pass out once while standing and having my hair curled for church when I was 8 years old and visiting my bio father in Denver. We figured that was just altitude and stress/excitement 🤷🏼♀️
I didn’t get sick, but I did fall down.
I’m still shocked that I slept standing up long enough for my ice cream to melt. I wonder how long I would’ve stayed there if I hadn’t somehow knocked the carton over and started myself awake? All night?🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣
