Sven Says Hello

Hey awesome WP Dudes! Sven was still doing the brumation thing, but I made him wake up today. I took him outside for a while, he got to have a shower for a while, and lots of pets and cuddles.

I thought I’d share a few pictures of everyone’s favorite Triangle Head.

The Casa is still Cuckoo and I’m very behind on my reading. Ben is home tomorrow (Thursday) for Veterans Day, then back on the GLYSB Friday morning. Seems silly to not do a three day weekend, but no one ever consults me.

I hope you’re all doing well, and I’ll see ya Sunday.

Hugs!!

  1. Always good to see Mr. Smiley! Declan will be home too. I took him to the doctor today to learn he has a double ear infection. The Lorax has been his comfort movie. Again, and again, and again… I think I will know he is better when the movie changes 🙂

    1. Oh no!! Poor D☹ I had ear infections into my teens. They’re awful!

Ben had ear infections all the time when he was younger. He’s allergic to penicillin so we always requested drops cuz the other antibiotics gave him a rash and diarrhea… talk about the cure being worse🤦🏼‍♀️ Plus with his ridiculous pain threshold, we never knew anything was wrong until his ears started leaking fluid😲🤦🏼‍♀️

Movies on repeat are not fun. Our DVD player in the living room died and Ben fussed for a few days, but he didn’t want to move the one from his room, or use any of the streaming channels. Of course we’re not allowed to watch anything on the TV, but at least I’m not watching the same movie for weeks or months at a time. I’m still traumatized by Alvin and the Chipmunks 🤪

I hope the movie changes soon🤞💕

    1. Me too!! 💕 The little brat still didn’t eat, even after I went and got worms.☹ He went back in his house and back to sleep. 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’m going to jostle him again tomorrow, try again. It’s time for him to wake up!!🙄😂

    1. The day off is for the teachers😉 it’s their paid holiday. I never got holiday pay for working Veterans Day, but my company only paid like 6 days I think… New Year, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas… maybe President’s Day but I can’t remember.

I don’t remember it being a holiday when I was in school, but I don’t remember it NOT being a holiday either.

I should be happy they didn’t decide to make Friday a staff development day or something and make it a 4 day weekend🤪😂

    1. Thanks Sadje! 🤗🥰🌻
I DO love the little brat! He may not be cuddly and warm like a kitty or a dawg, but he has a personality, and I worry about him when he doesn’t behave as usual.
He never did eat, even after I got worms. And he went back in his “house” and went back to sleep.
🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ll try again in the morning.

  2. Always pleased to see an appearance from Sven!
The Friday would be called a “bridge day” in Germany, and many employers would give it as a day off. Of course, as my brother once pointed out to me, every day is a bridge day for Captain Kirk.

    1. I’ve mostly gotten used to him brumating in summer, but he usually comes out of it after 6-8 weeks at the most. He’s been out since late July – early August… I’ve tried once or twice to wake him since late September but he was very lethargic so I let him be.
Younger Daughter says his teeth aren’t supposed to be all brown. I don’t spend a lot of time looking in his mouth, but I do remember that he’s always had brownish teeth. He was a rescue who didn’t seem to have any problems except neglect. We were only supposed to foster him for a little while… and 4 years later…😂😂
I guess it’s time to see the vet. Of course I feel like the worst Beardie mama ever☹ Even reptiles can feel like one of our children😂

      1. They are just like children! I miss Tufty when he’s hibernating and worry about him waking up OK. I hope you have a good vet. Reptiles are a bit of a specialism. I’ve never yet had to take Tufty to see the vet – it’s been 45 years – so fingers crossed I never will! 🐢🦎💕

        1. Younger has a good one we’re going to. They took care of Kris the Corn Snake when she had a respitory infection, and they’ve taken care of several Bearded Dragons with various issues.
Sven has always been different… difficult🙄 He’s a picky eater, brumates in summer… just… difficult. He may be fine, just need a cleaning🤷🏼‍♀️ but I won’t feel okay until a vet sees him.💌💌💌

    1. It looks like it. He does that sometimes when I stroke his jaw. Sometimes they open their mouths for heat regulation though. Reptiles are a trip.
I had just been lovin on him and running my finger along his jaw, so I’m going with “he likes it, he’s smiling”😉

    1. Robust Reptilian Rejuvenation… LOVE it!!😂 Thank you!🤗🌻 The little brat actually ate something this morning, so I’m slightly less stressed. He still needs to see the vet for his teeth, but it’s not quite as urgent. Whew!🤪🤦🏼‍♀️
