Sven the Grumpy Dragon

I thought I’d give all of Sven’s fans an update on how he’s doing.

As you can see, he seems to be back to his usual grumpy self. He has been showing his displeasure with the offerings in his food dish and giving side-eye at every opportunity, or being lazy on his hammock

He also does all the random, goofy things that make me giggle and paparazzi him

Then he’s right back to grumpy again.

I found him with his beard completely black the other day. I put him in the tub for a soak cuz that always makes him happy.

If the Sun is out, I usually take him outside after tub time. He’s always so bright and happy after a warm soak. I barely had time to get our selfie before he started trying to get away. He’s definitely more awake and more active. I took him back inside to his terrarium before he fell and hurt himself.

Grumpy!

Sven still isn’t eating a lot, not that I’ve seen anyway, but he has pooped so I know something is getting eaten. I think he gets mad at me paparazzi-ing him while he’s eating, so he does it when I’m not in the room.

So there ya go. I hope Sven gave you something to smile about, and I’ll see ya on Sunday with a song and a Casa Cuckoo update.

.

HUGS!

    1. Yep! He was so grumpy yesterday that he had a full black beard, was glass surfing, and jumped onto his hammock to glare at me. He hasn’t gone to the Judgey Corner but I’ve found him nose in the Pouting Corner๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒž๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’•

  1. Great to see a current photo of you Angie. Sven looks the same to me. But what do I know about lizards?
I had a revelation today. My husband and I watched the Movie “Philly Brown” tonight. Boy did that trigger lots of thoughts about my relationship with my niece Jasmine. You might remember she stopped talking to me a year and a half ago. Well, when I watched the movie, I see how she can be so screwed up by having an alcoholic absent mother in her life. It’s true. She was never around. My brother took care of her since they separated when she was two or three I think. My sister in law was abusive to my brother and he left. He and Jasmine moved out and my sisters and I helped out whenever possible. I brought Jasmine to church choir lessons, church after school programs, gymnastics, theater productions which she participated in during the summer, swim lessons cause she couldn’t swim, vacations to San Diego, Disneyland, Tahoe and plenty of day trips with Andrew during holiday vacations. She was basically with us whenever I could pick her up.
I was in National Charity League with her for six years. She threatened to quit every year, until I would pay to have her watch the senior presents (the current graduation class give speeches) at a fancy hotel called the Claremont in Berkeley. I bought dinner for her, bought her new dresses for every occasion, we had hair and nails done frequently, (also cause she never brushed her hair and wouldn’t let me do it either). She needed new shoes, new bras, etc… She was like my daughter.

Anyway, I digress. This movie made me understand why she is struggling. At one of her birthday parties, her mother was arrested for drunk driving and stealing a car. I only remember Jasmine worrying about her, that she would die. Her mother had health problems, was over weight, could barely hold a job, lived in Bay Point with a no good boyfriend. At one point, they were evicted from the house they rented and Jasmine was there to see the police come.

In any case, you can see why I am conflicted. No wonder she is having struggles in life. She has never had legitimate love from her own mother. So sad.

I am happy to hear from you and thank you for letting me vent.

It’s Christmas time and I’m hoping for peace this holiday season.

Hoping your sleep is better and that Ben is sleeping too.
I guess i should be shutting this down and getting some shut eye as well.

    Take care
    Teri

    1. Sleep is still an issue at the Casa. Ben has his own issues and his inability to sleep causes issues with mine. I’m typing this just shy of 4am after herding him back to his room๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

I’m sorry about your niece. An alcoholic parent can cause a lot of hurt. My ex is an alcoholic and my girls have issues related to it. Neither will go to counseling but that’s their decision.

I hope you have a fantastic holiday season. You deserve some peace & joy after the rough year and all you do for everyone!!

      1. Thank you Angie.
        Youโ€™re very sweet.
I canโ€™t believe he is getting up or still up at 4am. I would be a total basket case. As it is, i wake up at 6am and nanny for 9or 10 hrs. Itโ€™s a killer, cause I still make dinner and clean when i get home. But the little guy is the best little boy. So fun.
Hoping you have a nice Holiday with your fam.

        Hugs
        Teri
