#SLS ~ High Tech

Thanks to Jim Adams, for hosting Song Lyric Sunday. In Casa Cuckoo news, not much is new. It’s been cold and rainy in my corner of SoCal. I even recorded a short, narrated video to prove that we get actual rain. Ben is on Winter Break now, and it’s like I never spent months with him home during 2020. I’m already counting down the days until he goes back to school. Let’s just get on with the music, shall we?!

The prompt this week – lyrics associated with electronic communication devices (pagers, iPhone, Android, fax machine, computer, TV)

It took me a while to find a song for this prompt. Nothing came to mind immediately like usual, and most of the songs I found were just okay… kinda Meh. Then I found Technologic by Daft Punk and knew it was what I wanted to use.

Wiki tells us Technologic is a song by French duo Daft Punk (Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) from their third studio album, Human After All. It was released as the second single on June 14, 2005. The music video for “Technologic” was directed by Daft Punk.

House/Techno music isn’t a genre that I listen to often, but I think it definitely fits with this prompt. The whole song and video are kinda creepy TBH, but so is all the tech we rely on and use every day.

That being said, I love my android phone. I use it mostly for texting, email, and internet access. It’s awesome to be able to find fast answers to random questions, or verify spelling, or whatever. It’s still creepy though, how they seem to (or actually do) watch and listen… whoever “They” are.

Not that I have anything to hide. My bank accounts reflect a person who relies on Federal Disability and my life is written all over the interwebs in my blog. The only reason I don’t use my full name or my daughters’ names is to protect Ben, who is a minor, and impacted by autism to the degree that he may never be able to legally give consent.
