My name is Angie and I’m the mother of two adult daughters. I am co-parenting my autistic grandson with his mama, Older Daughter (I write semi-anonymously to protect Ben’s privacy) I, Older Daughter and Ben live together in one house that is ruled by King Ben. Gramma & Mommy are his loyal subjects.
I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse as well as domestic abuse from my alcoholic (ex)husband of 20+ years. I occasionally have problems with PTSD from the abuse and clinical depression because… life and also heredity.
On top of that, or slithering through it, I am also disabled with Fibromyalgia. Fibro brings it’s friends Fibro Fog, Insomnia, IBS and Plaque Psoriasis to play along. I also have problems with gravity, so I fall down a lot. Inanimate objects suddenly jump into my path.
I am a voracious reader of books and eater of cheese. I like to dance with my cart while in the grocery store. Sarcasm is my primary language. I am a Myers-Briggs INFP, a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), an Empath and a Pisces… I feel.
Bottom line, I’m kind of a mess. A generally happy mess, but a mess all the same. My blog is part journal, part rant space with a little attempt at education mixed in.
I’m a pragmatic eternal-optimist with a touch of cynicism.

Hi π
I hope you don’t mind me reaching out in a comment — I couldn’t find a way to contact you privately (you can always delete this comment…)
I noticed that your Gravatar doesn’t link to your blog. This makes it more difficult for others to find you. Please take a look at my blog post linked below, which explains the easy steps you can take to fix this π

I deleted my Grav. for that very reason. I really do want to be anon. In fact you will be hard pressed to find me on t’Internet visually. There are some. I think there’s a few from giving out [FREE HUGS] and one on LInkedin, but I’m not on all the social media things that carve my interactions.

I don’t do any other social media. I have the Birdy site but haven’t been there in ages. Never had Facepalm never will. I keep semi-anon because of Ben. There are two pictures of him in my blog. One from the back and one in costume.
People that we see regularly in “real life” may be hiding their true selves. π€·πΌββοΈ we just never know.

Nice to meet a pragmatic cynic. It takes all sorts, and the world is richer as a result.

I’m sure this is a silly question; but, who’s King Ben?

Ben is my grandson. We call him the King since he pretty much runs the house and tells us all what to do. So, he’s King Ben. We also call him (lovingly) Mr Bootyhead π

Thank you. I’m glad your hot mess is a happy one too. We have to have fun and laugh and enjoy life as much as we can!

I know what it’s like to live with chronic ill health. You are not alone and there are people out there who do understand. I’ve been there, myself, which is why I’m now reaching out to others in sharing something that is helping me (and thousands of others around the globe), tremendously to recover. Please check it out on my recent post. There is hope. Wishing you well.

Thank you, I did read your post. I have a friend who is a holistic practitioner, I’m going to see if she’s heard of the product and if she has any opinions on it.π»

Hi Angie, Iβve been really enjoying your comments on Grieving Single Dadβs blog. I have two nonverbal sons with autism that I am temporarily away from as a result of loss of supports with COVID. I can so relate to Couch Sittin Duty. I am an INFJ but my boys may have turned me into more of a P if that is possible. Iβm going to try to start posting a bit about our lives on my blog to keep a support group going for when my guys return. I adore you for being there for Ben and his mama and look forward to following you on your mystical journey.

Thank you! I encourage you to write. It’s kept me sane(ish) through the past few years and especially since schools closed. Ben is my love, but I’d be lying if I said it was easy caring for him full time. I think you’ll find the blogging community is super supportive and it’s so nice to have people who truly understand what it’s like to live with an autistic child.
Hopefully you’ll get your supports back soon and the transition wont be too bumpy.

Thank you.I have no doubt it must be so tough for you guys. So nice to talk to other soldiers who get it yet still have hearts full of love.
