Ben was doing one of his chalk creations and belting out this song…
but, just the chorus. Over and over and over… Also, with the way Ben speaks, it comes out sounding like “I’m just calling celery”
Another song he’s been singing lately is
again, just the chorus.
Before these two, was a different duo of songs…
And
which he played, but didnt really sing. Every once in a while I could get him to dance with me, and the booty circle was very pronounced and very cute/hysterical.
I’m very happy that he moved on from this one
That was the ONLY song for about a month.
He found a bit of this song on one of his many, many YouTube searches of studio logo intros
I did a search from the few words of the song during the intro and found the song. It’s a good song. I have no idea what the movie was that used it.
This is another movie song, but we know which one. I like this song too. Ben tries to sing along, but mostly just sings “life would be a dream, sweetheart”.
I’m off to look for the ear plugs and Ben is belting out how he wants to fly a kite.

Great songs! I love Sh-Boom but I know it from the movie Clue, which I think may go down as one of my favorite movies of all time (I passed the love down to Cate and we can quote that movie back and forth all day – love it!) Declan is into YouTube and he has a new tactic. He watches a video and recites it back as if the events the person is retelling actually happened to him. Today he told me “About that time” he fell off the curb and landed in the hospital. Very animated and yet, not a true story to Declan. ๐

Too funny! Ben has been watching this family that has the daughter, Emma, act like a police officer and put the adults in jail for breaking rules. I got him a “jail” poster & put it on a frame for Christmas. Currently Eeyore is in jail cuz Grandma wont play๐
I’m just glad he got tired of Sweeney Todd.๐๐ฌ

Ben has a very upbeat playlist ๐ถ๐. That Rolling Stones song makes me think of the Fantastic Mr. Fox soundtrack and Shboom reminds me of Clue as well. Two great movies! Havenโt heard Macarena in a while, fun version, line dancing…Iโm always afraid Iโm going to mess everybody else up so I try to concentrate really hard ๐คฃ. If Iโm on my own, all good. ๐คฃ I hadnโt heard Standing in the Safety Zone. Itโs quite beautiful. ๐ค๐๐ถโค๏ธ

These aren’t songs you’d expect to become earworms, but after hearing them over & over for weeks or months at a time๐ฑ I think Ben has a touch of OCD to go with his ASD & ADHD. He’s an alphabet soup๐ Its funny to hear him sing because he’s either trying to warble & trill like a diva or he’s growling and grunting like a death metal screamo. He also feels compelled to make noises to represent the instruments playing between the verses.
He drives me nuts, has me babbling gibberish… but he also cracks me up!
Standing In The Safety Zone IS a pretty song. Ben had a look of awe & wonder when I found the full version of it. Like I was magic. You know that look kids get… It was nice to be on the receiving end of that look again after so many years.๐ฅฐ๐ค๐๐ผ

๐ itโs funny the songs that stick around and you canโt get enough of them…or not as the case may be ๐. Itโs really cool that Ben likes music so well. I wonder what heโll be listening to down the road.
Thatโs a really great look…๐ it makes it all worth it! Thank you Angie!

Well, that just settles it. Between Ben and you and me, we could come up with the best Virtual Karaoke Bar ever. With complimentary ear plugs for everyone in the rest of the county, of course…

My elementary school music teacher wouldn’t let me be in the chorus, that’s how bad my singing is, so ear plugs are a MUST! Or possibly more booze๐

I like Ben’s chalk concept. Thank you for sharing that image.

Thanks for stopping by. I would really love to know why he arranges the chalk the way he does. It has some meaning to him. I have a picture of one of his projects as the wallpaper on my phone, and I guess the picture is upside down. He wanted to look at the picture but turned the phone around.
Another one of my readers saw the pattern in one of Ben’s creations. I dont know if its because the reader & Ben are both on the Autism Spectrum or just good at patterns ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ ๐

Lol I guess no one would ever knots why he arranged the chalks that ways ๐ I was staring at the chalk pic for a minute, not having any purposeful thought but just enjoy looking at it.
It’s not uncommon to see similar images like this, but atm, it just caught my attention. Maybe subconsciously, I was like you trying to figure why he arranged it that way. Did you ask your reader if they have had autism in their early years? I read about cases where autism was recognized in very early years of childhood, applied therapy, and then some were cured or learned to cope with daily life. Among those deemed to be cured, there were no traces of autism present in their latter years. I guess your reader friend could be either case. Some people’s brain are simply good with patterns.
Btw, I saw from your natal chart that you have Moon in Cap and Merc in Aqua, me too ๐

Cool! You’re my almost Astro Twin๐ is your Mercury retro too? I have quite a few planets retro. I find things to be easier for me when transit Merc is retro, when everyone else is freaking our. Retro is my natural or natal state๐
My reader identifies as Aspergers on the autism spectrum. He wasnt diagnosed until his 40s but recognizes that it manifested as early as he can remember. Aspergers or High Functioning Autism (HFA) is where most people holding down jobs or writing blogs, etc are going to be on the spectrum. They are the quirky nerds, the loners (I’m totally generalizing here) the ones seen on TV and in movies, level 1 support.
Ben is toward the other end, level 3 support. He is semi-verbal. He can speak but doesnt know the words, or cant make his mouth say them for a lot of things. He has trouble dressing himself, bathing himself, using a spoon to feed himself (he usually uses his fingers), plus a whole list of other stuff. He’s 11 years old but has the skills of a toddler or preschool child.
Sorry to ramble, but autism is fascinating and a major part of my daily life.

My Mercury is direct ๐ I recall reading your comments on Ursula’s blog and thought, ah there is a Pisces that’s sort of alike me hehe… No worries, it’s not ramble at all. Autism is an intriguing subject and there’s much to learn from it. Thank you for sharing ๐

Our son would do similar with crayons along with lining up his toys in perfectly straight lines. Then it just stopped for no apparent reason. I so love the Penguin song. Just about our favourite programme. Hope you get some sleep tonight.x

The Peguins are hysterical! Ben & I will stand in front of a mirror and do karate poses like the penguins.๐

He certainly likes a variety of music. I’m glad he changes the song at least periodically for your sanity.

๐๐ THAT might have been funny. No he had one of their movie DVDs playing on repeat and would do his screamo, death metal voice to sing along. ๐ Never a dull moment here at Casa Cuckoo ๐

I like to sing but I’m horrible! It may be my partial hearing loss from Scarlet Fever when I was a baby, but I. Am. Horrible! Ben tells me to shhhhh or totally deadpan “Will you shut up?!”๐

I’m liking Ben’s list of songs. The one, “Standing in The Safety Zone”… Wow! what an interesting song choice for an 11-year-old boy to pick. I listened to the lyrics and really thought, I wonder if Ben understands the song? Quite intriguing. ๐ค

It’s a pretty song, huh?! I wish I could say for sure what he understands. And what he doesnt understand. Is he doing irritating things because he’s 11 or because he doesnt understand๐ค
Maybe someday he’ll be able to tell me๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
