Daughter got up and took over Couch Sittin Duty at 4:30pm. I was outside, looking at the sky. Sunset was a bust… no clouds. 13% humidity… definitely no clouds. It did get pretty at the very end. I was inside and I saw an orange glow, so I went to look. I’m glad I did cuz the Moon was out too.
Dinner, bath and Driving Miss Daisy went fine. The Boys were tucked in and Daughter was texted. I was looking at the calendar to see what time my Pump Fill appointment was for, and saw that it’s on Monday, not Friday. My poor brain has gone AWOL. Friday is Officially “FriedDay”
Younger called to say she and Partner were gonna come by and get their food cuz the fridge got fixed. Excellent! They had mail to pick up anyway. So I got to see Younger for about ten minutes. It was nice.
Around 9:30pm I heard something hit the floor hard in Ben’s room. I figured it was probably him, which meant he was awake and goofing around. UGH! I went and told him it was time for sleep. Then I went back to writing an e-mail that wound up taking me until midnight to finish cuz I kept konking out. I even “sleep wrote a message of some sort… ?⁴8⁸kz GSM ll Iyc,,cbbc “,”gDd##$●#zgzsys I wonder if it means anything. After sending the email, I took my med and made one last pit stop, then waited for sleep to claim me… forty-five minutes later. Murphy and his games…
Sophie Cat woke me a couple times, demanding love, but I pushed her away. Horrible, huh?! Not at 3am, unless I’m already awake. Sometimes I wonder who is the pet. The 6am alarm woke me and I dragged myself out of bed. Mornings like this I REALLY wish Daughter drove!
I let Zeus outside and yadda yadda yadda… I started waking Ben up at 6:30, when his meds were due. He was coherent enough at 6:45am to take them. Fifteen minutes late doesn’t matter. He got up a few minutes after that.
I spent the next half hour taking pictures of the sky, Georgie and Gracie, and occasional crow visitors. I made another picture video. Do you guys like the videos or prefer the Galleries? Inquiring minds want to know.
We went to get Daughter, came home and went to our designated places. Just a regular Driving Miss Daisy morning.
At noon I put Sven in the shower. He’s shedding and all around his mouth is skin that needs to come off. It looks like he’s wearing white lipstick.
No wonder he was in the front Pouting Corner… poor Sven. At 12:30, I woke shower-blissed Sven up, used the toothbrush to get some of the sheds off and took him outside for a photoshoot in the sunshine. He was very cooperative.
Daughter got up and took over Couch Sittin Duty at 2:15pm. I got Horizontal and fought the drowzies for the next forty-five minutes or so. I eventually won, (or lost) and was able to stay awake. WOOT?
Ben played with his chalk, Daughter watched her laptop, and I stayed awake… Horizontally. Now it’s time to get ready for sunset and see if it’s any cooler outside. It was pretty warm when Sven and I did his photoshoot. I expect sunset will be a bust again. 9% humidity means no clouds. Then we’ll be getting Ben ready to Drive Miss Daisy. PreGame Show Time.

Another hot, dry day. Crazy ass Santa Ana weather. At least the winds aren’t bad. Santa Ana winds make California fire season so bad. Anyway, inside Casa Cuckoo we kept the chill. More Driving Miss Daisy on the agenda for tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully it will all be Rinse, Repeat… vibe-wise, and hopefully a little cooler and less dry. But this IS Casa Cuckoo and absolutely anything could happen. ¡Hasta mañana!

The app makes the video, I’m not always thrilled with their choices of what to pause on, and what to skip over. 🤷🏼♀️but it’s super easy.

Thanks, Robyn! You’re kinda right about him drinking in the sunshine. They open their mouths like that as a way to regulate their temperature. He was probably warming his belly, or was getting too warm in the sun.😉 He’s back in his Pouting Corner again now. Poor Sven…😂😂

I’m sleeping much better these days. I think I’m exhausted.
Chickens are sleeping in their coop finally. They were terrified the first night when I wouldn’t colllect them and locked them in the coop. But they were fine this Am.
Brought them lots of treats and they even wanted cuddle time. So cute.

Sometimes I feel like the Universe is against me sleeping. There are so many things that interrupt my sleep.🤦🏼♀️ I used to tell my girls that the ideal vacation would be a medically induced sleep for about 3 or 4 days. Knock me out, keep me hydrated and nourished and just let me rest… it still sounds nice.😂😂

Sven is such a crack-up! Bearded Dragons are really funny. Once you’ve got the initial set-up, they’re cheap and easy too. They even enjoy a “cuddle”… but watch out for the spikes!😂

I was thinking of you and everyone who is dealing with “real” winter when I wrote about the weather. I was thinking lots of people would love to have the warmth and dryness. I do realize how blessed we are with nice weather in SoCal. 9% humidity is ridiculous though. It sucks the moisture out of my skin, it drys out my lips and nose… AND I’m complaining again🙄🤦🏼♀️😂😂😂🤐🤐💕💌

I guess we are never one hundred percent happy wherever we are! I love Wales and living in the countryside so much – it’s beautiful here – but there are down sides! 🙂

So true. I’ve travelled through most of the western US and I haven’t found anywhere I like better than where I live. I’ve got desert, mountains and the Pacific Ocean all within driving distance.
Life is pretty good if all one has to complain about is the weather😉😁
